Here are the approximate stacks of some of the notable players late here in the second-to-last level of Day 1a. As you can see, Adrian Attenborough has had a productive level as he is now up over six figures.
Tristan ‘SkunkDen’ Bain has moved over six figures!
We recently watched Bain win some chips in a four-handed pot. It started with Bain opening it up to 1,600 preflop. The player on the button called, along with both players in the blinds. On the flop, it was checked to Bain, who bet 3,700. Only the player on the button would make the call and with that the dealer would flip over a turn. Bain led out for 7,800 here and that was enough to scoop the pot.
Edison ‘GooGieMonA’ Nguyen has just picked up a very nice double, courtesy of Mile Krstanoski.
When we arrived at the action, Nguyen was on the button and had an all in bet of 17,025 in front of him. Nguyen’s opponent, Krstanoski, was in the hijack. At this point 12,000 had already been raked into the middle of the pot. Krstanoski thought for quite some time and eventually made the call.
It was Nguyen’s against Krstanoski’s .
The board ran out a safe , giving Nguyen the flush and the double.
Alex Lynskey is starting to move towards the chip lead.
We recently watched Lynskey scoop up a handy pot on a board. By the time we arrived at the action, it was at
showdown, and Lynskey’s opponent was busy mucking. Lynskey, on the other hand, had tabled to win the pot.
Here are some more approximate stacks from players during Level 6. As you can see, Tristan Bain has continued to dominate his table and is now nearing six figures.
Billy “The Croc” Argyros has taken a hit to his stack, but he’s thankful that it hasn’t cost his entire tournament. Argyros opened to 1,400 from middle position and was called by Jason Pritchard in position to see a flop of .
Argyros led out for 2,500 before Pritchard responded by moving all in. Argyros had 8,500 behind and after some thought, he let it go as Pritchard flashed the .
“I got lucky!” chirped Argryos, “I had a pair!”
Argyros has some work ahead of him with his last 8,500 chips.
