Marlon Arrives

Marlon Goonawardana is a late arrival for Day 2 action as he just took his seat on Table 17, much to the dismay of the other players.

However Dory Zayneh wasn't too worried about Marlon's arrival as he declared to the table, "Don't worry boys, I'll keep this puppy on a leash!"

Kambouris Races to a Double

Antonis Kambouris, from Day 1 action
Antonis Kambouris, from Day 1 action
Antonis Kambouris was looking at a stack of 23,500 and a raise from middle position to 2,200. He decided to ship his stack into the middle, putting his faith in {4-Diamonds} {4-Spades}. The original raiser wasn't the party to be worried about; it was the big blind, who moved in over the top of Kambouris with {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}. That folded the original raiser, sending Kambouris and the big blind off to the races. Kambouris was the victor on a board of {6-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}. He's over 50,000 in chips now.

Nelson All-In Ends In Three-Way Chop

Three players, including Lee Nelson and Greg Cook all had their chips in preflop but incredibly they all tabled the same hand, ace-king!

With a flush the only possibility to avoid a chop the board fell {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs} and the three players are somewhat relieved to chop it up!

The Elder Assadourian Sends a Player to the Rail

Assadour Assadourian told PokerNews on Day 1 that he's taken lots of tips from his son Eric since he started playing poker. Assadour didn't need any of those tips to make an easy call with {A-Diamonds} {k-Diamonds} when a player in front of him moved all in for 10,000 chips. His opponent showed {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs}, and Assadour's 3-to-1 edge held up on a board of {A-Spades} {k-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {J-Clubs}. He now has 63,500 chips.

Guise Cowboys Up

Tom Guise
Tom Guise
Tom Guise didn't have a stellar Day 1. Although he managed to chip up, he finished the day with an unimpressive 33,000 chips. Things are going better for Guise today. Big Names Keep Falling

John Juanda
John Juanda
Tony Dunst has left the feature table. He found himself in an all-in confrontation against Jason Plant. Dunst showed {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} but was a significant underdog to Plant's {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}. Dunst needed clubs or an ace, but got neither on a board of {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {10-Spades} {3-Spades} {3-Diamonds}. Plant dragged a pot worth about 50,000 chips, eliminating Dunst in the process.

John Juanda is also out. His pocket kings were cracked by Andrew Scott. After Juanda had re-raised preflop, Scott decided to shove with {9-Spades}{7-Spades} but Juanda made the call. The flop was nine-high but then a seven hit the turn to give Scott two pair. The river bricked and Juanda was sent to the rail. "Sorry about that Johnny!" quipped Scott as he raked in another pot.
