Frank Saffioti Eliminated in 6th Place (AU$100,800)

Frank Saffioti - 6th place
Frank Saffioti - 6th place
We have our sixth-place finisher. Jason Gray opened the pot with a raise to 110,000 that was called by Frank Saffioti on the button and by Martin Rowe in the big blind. A flop of {A-Clubs} {6-Spades} {7-Spades} was an action flop, with Rowe checking to Gray. He bet 180,000; Saffioti moved all in for 540,000. Rowe then called Saffioti's bet, causing Gray to immediately muck his cards.

Saffioti: {A-Spades} {Q-Spades}
Rowe: {7-Hearts} {7-Clubs}

It was a huge flop for Saffioti, hitting top pair with a good kicker and the nut flush draw, but he ran into Rowe's set of sevens. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn gave Saffioti even more outs. He needed any ace, any queen, or any spade on the river, but it bricked out the {9-Diamonds}. Saffioti exits in sixth place, pocketing AU$100,800 for his finish.

Rowe is now on 4.4 million in chips. He covers the second-place player, Antonio Fazzolari, by more than 2.5 million chips.
