Day 2 Started

Hey Everyone, It's Day 2!

We're back inside the luxurious confines of the poker room at the Grand Lisboa, and we're getting set to go on Day 2 of the PokerStars.net APPT Macau!

We've got 160 runners still in contention for the title, and 120 of them will go away empty handed. The top 40 are guaranteed a payday this week, and we expect to come close to bursting that bubble before wrapping up the day.

The chip bags are just starting to appear on the tables, and the tournament staff is hurriedly preparing the room for the arrival of the players. We'll get things rolling at 12:15pm again, about 20 minutes from now. That gives us all a few minutes to grab a favorite caffeinated beverage and get settled into our chairs for a long day of poker.

Don't wander too far, the shuffle up and deal is nigh!

Level: 8

Blinds: 400/800

Ante: 75

Let's Get it Started

We've just had shuffle up and deal, and the cards are in the air. The floor staff is already announcing the first all in - pocket kings against pocket queens. Looking pretty good for Mr. Cowboys as he just flopped a set.

All In All In All In

The announcers are clearly going to be busy today. There have been all in and calls on four tables in the first four minutes. And we've already had the first suck-resuck of the day. It was a three-way all in with pocket jacks covering pocket kings covering pocket threes. The jacks turned a set for the lead but the kings rivered broadway to stay alive.

Pedley Runs Queens Into Kings

From under the gun, Michael Pedley moved all in for about 21,000. Action folded to Lawrence Robjent in the cutoff seat and he moved all in as well for about 12,000 chips. Everyone else folded and the cards were turned up.

Pedley held pocket queens, but was outdone bu Robjent's pocket kings. AFter a board of {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}, Pedley was left with just about 9,000 chips while Robjent doubled his stack.

Luske with Aces

Marcel Luske
Marcel Luske

Marcel Luske opened from early position to 2,600 and the big blind made the call. After a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}, the big blind checked and Luske fired a bet worth his entire stack. The player quickly folded and Luske said, "Only aces, my friend. Only aces," as he showed two aces.

Wu_Wizard

Ok, so Kevin MacPhee isn't here, but Raymond Wu is pulling out some good online tricks. Tony Hachem opened to 2,200 from the cutoff, and Raffi Cedric called on the button. The small blind folded, and in the big blind, Wu asked for counts of both player's stacks before squeezing to 7,200. Hachem quickly folded, and after studying Wu for a minute, Cedric did the same.
