The board reads that there's just 44 players left in the field, down from the original 342 that came to play the 2010 APPT Macau Main Event. That's just four spots off the money, meaning four very unfortunate players will have to wake up today, walk in the tournament room and then leave with nothing. Sure, one will inevitably be named the bubble boy of this year, but who honesty wants that title?

TJ Vorapanich sits at the top of the pack with 472,900 chips. He was a top-five stack until the very last hand of the night where he sent one more player to the rail as another massive pot was pushed his way. Up until that point, Kai Paulsen held the chip lead. Paulsen capped off his day at 416,800 chips and is the only other player about the 400,000-chip mark. Heck, those two are the only two players in the field above the 300,00-chip mark! Brendon Rubie is third on the leaderboard and he's got 299,300.

Team PokerStars Pro has been dwindled down to just one player. Marcel Luske played solid and tight all day yesterday. Even though he entered the day with under 20,000, Luske was able to double up a few times when his big hands paid off and he rounded out the day at 93,000.

Case of the Missing Chip

Chip leader TJ Vorapanich un-bagged his chips before play began and found that he was short one purple T500 chip. Vorapanich was adamant about telling the floorstaff that a chip was missing and claimed that he stack was counted three times by himself and also once by the staff to verify the count. The staff said that a chip may have fallen out and that they'll check where the chips were stored, but it's more likely that the stack was simply miscounted.

One Down, Three To Go

We just lost our first player for the day, making 43 players left and just three spots out of the money. After Kai Paulsen raised to 10,000 from middle position, Guillaume Patry moved all in from the cutoff seat for 38,800. Paulsen made the call.

"Do you have an ace?" asked Patry. Paulsen knodded and tabled the {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Patry held the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

The flop was clear for Patry when the {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} fell. Paulsen did pick up a pair of eights, but Patry was still well ahead in the hand. The turn card was a dagger when the {8-Clubs} fell, tripping up Paulsen. The river completed the board with the {10-Diamonds} and that was all she wrote for Patry as he was the first player gone for the day.

Short Stack Gets a Little Taller

Conrad Coetzer raised, and when TJ Vorapanich reraised him, he moved all in for another 25,000. He showed down {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} to Vorapanich's {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, and Coetzer carefully corrected the announcer, since it sounded like he'd said "ace-eight-five" instead of "eight-eight-five," a fairly important distinction for Conrad. The {6-Clubs} turn and {4-Diamonds} river made Coetzer a straight and gave the day's shortest starting stack his first much-needed double up.

Rubie Takes One

Jukka Juvonen raised to 13,000 and then Brendon Rubie three-bet to 27,000. Juvonen made the call and the flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Juvonen checked and Rubie fired 16,200. Juvonen called.

The turn card brought the {3-Clubs} and Juvonen checked to Rubie once again. Rubie fired 29,000 and Juvonen folded his hand. Rubie's now up to about 340,000.
