Coetzer Gone

Conrad Coetzer
Conrad Coetzer

Action folded to Conrad Coetzer on the button and he moved all in for 47,700. Marcel Luske folded from the small blind, but claimed that he felt Coetzer was stealing. Albert Kim was in the big blind and looked at only the {A-Spades} before making the call. He had the {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Coetzer had the {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. After a board of {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Coetzer was the second player eliminated today. Kim's up to 165,000 now.

Green Gets Away

Brian Green raised on the button, and Raffi Cedric three-bet him from the big blind. Green wasn't falling for that trick. He moved all in for another 110,000, enough to cover Cedric. Into the tank Cedric went, while the cameras swarmed in. Brendon Rubie had gone to the bathroom when the thinking started, and couldn't get back into his seat through the wall of video crew. Finally someone called the clock on Cedric, and he let it tick down until his hand was dead.

New Clock Rule

On the flop of {K-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, Victorino Torres fired 16,000 into Mikhail Mazunin. Mazunin then moved all in, having Torress well covered for his last 50,000 chips or so. Torres tanked for several minutes before tournament director Danny McDonagh told Torres he was going to call the clock on him. Torress eventually folded his hand a few moments later and McDonagh announced to the entire tournament that if decisions began taking too long, he would be putting a clock on the player faced with the decision. He said it would be unfair to the rest of the tables and players.

Kim Still Squeezing

From under the gun, Brendon Rubie raised to 9,000. TJ Vorapanich called in middle position and then Albert Kim squeezed a three-bet from the big blind to 39,000. Rubie folded and Vorapanich folded as well. Yesterday, Kim squeezed a lot in spots like this and used it to build his stack nicely. It looks like he's up to the same tricks today.

Bubble King Survives

Mikael Rosen
Mikael Rosen

Jeppe Drivsholm opened to 9,000, and Takuya Suzuki raised to 25,100. Then short-stack Mikael Rosen moved all in for a meager 31,600. The big blind tank-folded, and then Drivsholm called. Suzuki could only call as well. The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and Drivsholm quickly bet 100,000. Suzuki folded, and it was time for showdown.

Rosen, who bubbled APPT Manila when his kings were cracked by ace-jack, was ahead with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} against Rosen's {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The {5-Spades} turn gave Rosen an extra flush draw, and the {k-Hearts} was a blank. He breathed a huge sigh of relief to triple up and dodge yet another bubble finish.

Ogura Claims Bubble Glory

Meet your bubble boy
Meet your bubble boy

Takashi Ogura was all in with the {A-Spades}{J-Spades} versus the two red tens for Mikhail Mazunin. The two players had to wait until every other table was finished until the dealer ran out the board which seemed to make both players very anxious in anticipation. Ogura was more anxious as he was the all-in player facing a possible bubble elimination if he couldn't get there.

The flop came down {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Ogura picked up a straight draw along with his two overs. The turn was the {4-Spades} and now Ogura added a spade flush draw. The river completed the board with the {3-Hearts} and didn't complete any type of hand for Ogura. He was eliminated at the hands of Mazunin and sent home as the official bubble boy.

Nguyen Makes a Straight Flush to Bust Haabak

Jesse Haabak
Jesse Haabak

Jesse Haabak was all in with the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} against Binh Nguyen's {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} in preflop action. Haabak was shorter stacked than Nguyen and at risk in the hand. The flop made things even worse for Haabak when it came {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs} and added a flush draw for the already-leading Nguyen.

The turn sealed the deal with the {8-Spades}, making Nguyen's flush draw and leaving Haabak drawing dead. The river even improved Nguyen's hand with the {J-Spades} to give him a straight flush. He's now got over 325,000 while Haabak was the first player out in 40th place.
