Call Or Twelve Hundred?

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

There was some laughing going on over at Table 1 when a small mistake was made by Nicholas Wright on the river with a board showing {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

Wright was first to act in the hand against John Harman, with Wright throwing out 300 on the river into a pot of around 1,200. At this point Harmen said "call," throwing in his 300 worth of chips. At this point Wright would usually have to table his hand, but strangely he then threw out 1,200. The players around the table look bewlidered as Wright didnt catch on to the fact he had made an error. After a few moments some players pointed out that Wright had already bet and Harmen called.

"Oh, i thought you said '1,200'," said Wright as he turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

Harman mucked his hand and along with Wright and the rest of the players at the table, had a bit of a laugh.

Everyones Involved

Brian Biggs limped from UTG +1 along with Leo Boxell and Norah Greer behind him, before action came to Octavian Voegele in the hijack seat. Voegele would have no limping, as he made it 800 to see a flop. All three players thought it wasn't too much to make the call and we would see some cards.

Flop: {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Biggs was first to act and checked to Leo Boxell, who pushed out 1,200. Greer made the call, along with Voegele and Biggs also paying to see a turn. The card that fell was the {3-Hearts} and this time all the players checked to Voegele who pushed out a 2,500-chip bet. Only Biggs would make the call, while Boxell and Greer would get out of the way.

The repeat three with the {3-Spades} on the river would see Biggs lead this time, sending 5,500 into the pot. Voegele looked pained and let out a deep sigh as he managed to utter the word, "call".

Almost as soon as the word came out of Voegele's mouth, Biggs' cards were in the muck as Voegele took in the pot and showed his {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Sale Needs Life Boat

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Alicia Sale managed to win an APPT Queenstown side event earlier in the week , but with her now sitting with a short stack it is looking like Sale may be heading home early in the Main Event.

There would be four players who would see the flop fall {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and it was Norah Greer who acted first, opting to check. Octavian Voegele was next in line and he made it 300 to go and received calls from Leo Boxell, Sale and Greer.

The turn card was the {9-Clubs} and Greer and Voegele would both check as Sale threw out 600 in chips. Boxell then raised it up to 2,400 and Greer and Voegele got out of the way. Sale made the call and the two remaining players would see the {6-Clubs} land on the river.

When Sale checked, Boxell would make it 2,000 and Sale made the call, mucking her hand whe Boxell turned over {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a rivered flush.

Kings Aint Enough

Poker seems to be a little easier when you get dealt pocket kings and pocket aces back-to-back, at least it was that way for Charles Caris.

Caris first managed to gain some chips when he got quite a bit of value with his {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} against one opponent and then on the very next hand got less value, but still gained some much valued chips when against one opponent with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Playing Again

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

The players are back to in the Summit Room here at Sky City Casino, with another two one hour levels played before the final break of the day.

No Return For Karib

Karib Karib hasn't returned from his break, with the details of his bustout just surfacing.

Apparently Karib's demise started when Jurcic opened preflop to 400 and Karib three-bet to 2,000 from the big blind. Jurcic made the call and the {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{q-Spades} was dealt. At this point Karib shoved and Jurcic called.

Karib: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Jurcic: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out with repeat sixes and Jurcic took down the pot while Karib was sent home.
