Welcome Back to Day 1b of APPT Macau!

City of Dreams, Macau
City of Dreams, Macau

Welcome back to PokerNews' coverage of the 2013 PokerStars.net APPT Macau Main Event. Yesterday's Day 1a field saw 184 players come out to action. At the end of the day, 74 of them advanced to Day 2. It was Nahum Lum leading the way at the end of the day with 158,500 in chips.

With an expected field of around 250 players today, it would mean that this event will have in excess of 400-runners, which is great considering the popularity of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) running simultaneously over in Las Vegas.

Play is set to kick off at 3:00pm local time here at the City of Dreams Macau. Be sure to stay tuned for all the live coverage straight from the floor, it's going to be another great day on the felt.

Healy Back to Even

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We just spotted a player limp in under the gun, before facing a bet of 300 from Patrick Healy in the cut-off. He made the call as both players saw the flop come down {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. A quick check was met with a continuation bet of 500 from Healy, resulting in a fold.

Guerin Busy Early

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We caught the action with board reading {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and the player in the big blind checking his option. Didier Guerin was the other player in the hand, and he bet out 850, which was called. The {J-Diamonds} completed the board, and Guerin was met with another check. He went into the tank for a minute, before throwing out a bet of 2,600. His opponent thought for a minute also, but decided to muck his hand.

Healy Loses Sprint

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Patrick Healy limped into the pot from under the gun, before the player on the button raised to 275. The player in the big blind called, as did Healy, as all three saw the flop come down {A-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}. The big blind checked, as Healy quickly threw out a bet of 450. His opponent on the button snap-called, forcing a fold from the big blind. The turn was a {J-Hearts}, and Healy instantly threw out another 725 in chips. His opponent called, and both watched the river come the {8-Diamonds}. For the third time, Healy quickly threw out a bet of 1,200. His opponent thought about his decision for a minute, before making the call and tabling {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Healy mucked his cards, as he drops down to 17,000 in chips.
