Reina Busts to Zhao

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Guiseppe Reina
Guiseppe Reina

While Wai Leong Chan failed to knock out a short stack with {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} versus {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}, Fan Zhao did so in dominating fashion.

It was Guiseppe Reina who got it in preflop with the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} to his {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and the Chinese faded a gutshot on the turn of a {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{J-Hearts} board to hold up and bust Reina.

Kanzaki Busts in Coin Flip

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Another preflop all in situation towards the end of the penultimate level saw Yoshihisa Kanzaki at risk with {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Geng Liu made the call with the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and suffered a setback on the {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{A-Diamonds} flop, however the {J-Diamonds} turn returned the lead to the better hand preflop.

Only an ace could save the Japanese and it was the {K-Diamonds} river instead that shipped the pot to Liu.

Chan Takes Out Two In Quick Succession

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jordan Kaplan
Jordan Kaplan

Ren Xingrong moved all in for his remaining 57,500 in chips from under the gun and was called by Wai Leong Chan on the button.

Xingrong: {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Chan: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Xingrong looked like he was out the for until the flop came down {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} giving him a pair of threes and the lead. He jumped out of his chair and gave out a cheer, but that didn't last long, as the dealer produced the {j-Hearts} on the turn to give the lead back to Chan. Xingrong was not drawing dead, as he outs to a flush as well, but that didn't come as the {7-Spades} completed the board.

Moment later, Jordan Kaplan committed his remaining 75,000 with {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and was up against Chan’s {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

The board would then run out {3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades} to see Chan catch a queen on the flop to win the hand with a higher pair. He now sits behind a stack totalling 400,000 in chips.

Huidong Gu
Huidong Gu

With 59,000 in the pot and the flop showing {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} Geng Liu bet out 33,000. His opponent in the hand was Huidong Gu who raised it up to 73,000 after thinking about his decision for a minute.

Liu took his time in making the call before the dealer produced the {k-Spades} on the turn. Liu checked prompting Gu to move all in for 155,000 in chips. Liu contemplated the call but mucked instead as he relinquished the pot to Gu.

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Adrian Brion
Adrian Brion

Adrian Brion had already shoved for 27,500 without getting called and three hands later he moved all in again, this time for 38,000. He was called by Alex Xiang Wei Lee on the button and turned over {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. Lee was way ahead with the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} but Brion improved on the {5-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop.

Unfortunately, the {4-Diamonds} turn and {3-Diamonds} river gave Lee the lead once again with a straight and Brion headed to the payout desk.

Fu Busts Jiang and Fam in Huge Pot

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Xiaohua Fu
Xiaohua Fu

Sihai Jiang open-shoved from under the gun for what looked like 55,000 chips and Xiaohua Fu flat-called on the button. Kai Yat Fam then glanced at his cards and reshoved out of the big blind to isolate the short stack. Fu snap-called and that is always a very bad sign.

Jiang: {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Fam: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Fu: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

There was no help on the {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} board and Fu jumped to incredible 740,000 in chips.

Mu Eliminates Yu

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Dapeng Mu raised from the cut off before Nan Yu moved all in for his remaining 90,500 in chips from the big blind. Mu had the bet just covered and made the call before both players tabled their cards.

Mu: {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}

Yu: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The board ran out {2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} to see Mu spike an ace on the flop to send Yu to the rail.

Campomanes Rivers Kim

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After a three-way flop of {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and a pot of about 35,000 chips, Gab Yong Kim faced the check-raise all in of Florencio Campomanes for 81,500 chips. Kim eventually made the call with {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair and Campomanes turned over his {A-Spades}{7-Spades} for the flush draw.

It was no spade that hit, but instead the {6-Clubs} turn and {A-Diamonds} river completed the board to send Kim back to the short stack.
