Kweon Delivers a Hard Check

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Soonil Kweon checked loudly in frustration to close the action on a heads up pot with Connor Drinan.

The two players were across from one another, looking at the {8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} board. Kweon bet 3,700 and, after some deliberation, Drinan called. The river was the {6-Clubs} and Drinan checked to Kweon again.

Kweon seemed to be weighing his options and eventually looked up to the ceiling and used a single chip to check loudly in frustration. Kweon mucked his hand after Drinan turned over pocket queens {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

Cheng Gonna' Come

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Matthew Wakemen finished Day 1b among the chipleaders and still has a health stack. Yat Wei Cheng, got rolling on Day 1a after taking a large pot of Stephen Chidwick, is now trying to get some of Wakemen's chips as well.

The two players were heads up and looking at a flop of {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts} and Cheng bet 5,000. Wakemen studied his opponent and eventually threw in a call. The turn was the {8-Hearts} and Cheng seemed ready to be done with the hand, throwing in a bet of 16,500. Wakemen didn't take too long to fold and give Cheng the pot.
