Cheeky Kenney

Level 16 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

"Six-three of clubs isn't a bluff!" commented Fedor Holz from the rail after Bryn Kenney had flashed the {6-Clubs} when he got Andy Andrejevic to fold on the river.

The chip leader had raised to 285,000 from the cutoff and bet 250,000 on the flop. Kenney was in the big blind and called both bets. The turn was checked through to leave an {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} board. Kenney led for 635,000 and Andrejevic folded.

O'Dwyer Makes a Straight, "Doesn't Need It"

Level 16 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Defending ACOP Super High-Roller Champ Steve O'Dwyer
Defending ACOP Super High-Roller Champ Steve O'Dwyer

John Juanda just paid Steve O'Dwyer off on the river when the board read {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Juanda raised preflop to 260,000 and the action folded to O'Dwyer in the big blind. He called and the two players saw the flop of {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}. They both checked the flop and the {10-Clubs} on the turn. The river was the {7-Spades} and O'Dwyer bet 300,000.

Juanda debated his decision for a moment, and then called.

"I have a straight, but I probably don't need it," said O'Dwyer as he showed {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}. The six gave him a straight, but O'Dwyer was convinced his ten was good enough to take it down.

"You were right on both counts," Juanda responded as he mucked his hand.

Juanda Shoves and Shows, Kind of

Level 16 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

John Juanda just four-bet shoved on Bryn Kenney and afterwards he showed the {8-Diamonds}.

Juanda opened for 260,000 on the button. Kenney reraised to 640,000. After a moment or two, Juanda shoved all in. Kenney didn't really hesitate to muck his hand and give Juanda the pot.

As the dealer was pushing the pot to Juanda, he coyly showed the {8-Diamonds} and then showed the suit of his other card while kept his thumb over part of it, to keep at least some mystery. It was another diamond.

He opened to 200,000 before Andy Andrejevic three-bet to 575,000. Astapau moved all in for around 2,800,000 and Andrejevic made a quick call.

Astapau: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Andrejevic: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. It was a painful turn for Astapau and enabled Andrejevic to extend his lead after making broadway.

Kenney Wins Two

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

After doubling through defending champ Steve O'Dwyer, Bryn Kenney has been on the upswing. He played a big pot with Anton Astapau and added almost 1.2-million of Astapau's chips to his stack.

Kenney opened to 235,000 and Astapau called from the small blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and Astapau bet 325,000. Kenney called and the two players saw the {4-Diamonds} hit the river. Astapau checked and Kenney bet 745,000. Astapau didn't waste much time before calling.

Kenney turned over two pair with {k-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Astapau mucked. On the next hand Kenney added even more to his stack when he raised to 235,000 preflop into Steve O'Dwyer's big blind. O'Dwyer defended, but Kenney took down the pot with a river bet on a {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs} board. The two players had checked it down, before Kenney's bet.

Erik Seidel Eliminated in 6th Place (HKD$1,696,200)

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Erik Seidel - 6th place
Erik Seidel - 6th place

Anton Astapau was responsible for leaving Erik Seidel with a short stack and he was the one who finished him off.

After shoving on the previous two hands, and getting both all in bets through, Seidel shoved a third time. The action folded to Anton Astapau in the big blind and he took a moment to get a count. After the dealer counted Seidel's chips, it was less than one million to call. Astapau called and saw that he was ahead.

Astapau held {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against the {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} of Seidel. The board ran out {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} eliminating Seidel in 6th place.

Kenney Doubles Through O'Dwyer

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

In the history of the APPT no player has ever won two "Spadies" - ACOP Title Events. Steve O'Dwyer can break that record today but the task has become harder after he doubled up Bryn Kenney.

O'Dwyer opened to 210,000 before Kenney three-bet to 535,000. O'Dwyer shoved and Kenney snap called all in for 2,635,000.

O'Dwyer: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Kenney: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

The board ran {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades} to see Kenney's hand hold.

Seidel Gets Shoved On, Down to Ten Bigs

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Erik Seidel's stack has shrunk down to around one million after Anton Astapau set him in on the river.

Seidel opened to 225,000 from under the gun and Astapau peeled from the big blind to see an {8-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop where both players checked. The board ran out {j-Spades}{6-Hearts} with Astapau betting 325,000 and all in on each street. Seidel called the turn bet but gave up quickly on the river.

All A's

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Anton Astapau and Andy Andrejevic played the biggest pot so far, in the early moments of the Super High-Roller final table.

Astapau opened from the button for 200,000 and Andrejevic called from the big blind.

The flop was {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Andrejevic checked. Astapau bet 200,000 and Andrejevic check-raised to 675,000. Astapau didn't move for almost a minute, his eyes were bouncing from his stack to Andrejevic's and to the flop, eventually he called.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Andrejevic led out for 1,175,000. Astapau called and the two players saw the {10-Hearts} hit the river. Both players checked and Andrejevic took down the pot with {j-}{8-} for a flopped two pair. The river ten counterfeited his original two pair, but it was still good to take down the pot.
