Sukonthachartnant Takes Shashank Out

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Phanlert Sukonthachartnant
Phanlert Sukonthachartnant

The board read {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{a-Hearts} and Phanlert Sukonthachartnant had bet 6,800. Rathi Shashank shoved for 29,100 and Sukonthachartnant called.

Rathi Shashank: {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Phanlert Sukonthachartnant: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}

Shashank had turned a flush and Sukonthachartnant held two pair. Shashank just needed to avoid another six or ace to double up.

The river completed the board with the {8-Clubs} and Shashank doubled up.

Shortly after, the flop read {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}, Sukonthachartnant had checked his big blind and Shashank shoved. Sukonthachartnant snap-called.

Rathi Shashank: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Phanlert Sukonthachartnant: {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Shashank had flopped top pair but Sukonthachartnant had flopped the straight.

The rest of the board was completed with the {2-Hearts} on the turn and the {2-Diamonds} on the river to not provide any help to Shashank as he was eliminated.

Dilijiang A raised to 3,600 from under the gun and Konstantin Pogodin was next to act. Pogodin called in the hijack. PokerStars Team Online's Randy Lew shoved for 30,800 in the small blind. A also decided to shove and Pogodin quickly got out of their way.

Randy Lew: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Dilijiang A: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} to give Lew a set of jacks on the river to double up.

"Luckbox!" Steve Yea exclaimed.

"I had ace-nine!" Pogodin said with a huge smile.

"Ah, for the straight?" Lew commented.

"Yes!" Pogodin replied.

"Randy Luckbox Lew!" Yea remarked.

"Don't tell them my middle name!" Lew said jokingly.

Carter Gains, Li Loses a Bit

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The board read {10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and there was around 22,500 in the middle already. Gabriel Carter was sitting in the big blind and decided to bet 9,500. Eric Tsai decided to call from the hijack. Carter tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for two pair and that was enough to make Tsai muck.

The hand after that, Yan Li raised to 2,300 from the cutoff and was called by Fan Zhang in the big blind.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{j-Spades}, Zhang check-called the 2,400 continuation-bet of Li.

They both checked through the {2-Clubs} on the turn to the {9-Spades} on the river. Zhang now threw in 5,400 but announced another betting amount. Li folded immediately.
