Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jiang Chen
Jiang Chen

Jiang Chen just doubled up by winning a coin-flip that almost led him to elimination.

Changyang Liu raised from early position, and Jiang Chen shoved from the small blind for 190,000 in chips. Liu called and it was a classic race.

Changyang Liu: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Jiang Chen: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} with the flop giving the lead to Liu, but turn and river had other plans, with running hearts keeping Chen alive.

Tian Going Up

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Hao Tian
Hao Tian

Hao Tian won a couple of pots and now he is getting close to the chip lead at the final table.

At first, he limped from the button, Xinglong Huang raised to 29,000 and Tian called after the big blind's fold. The flop came {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Huang bet 32,000, getting called by Tian.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Huang checked this time. Tian bet 35,000 and Huang let his hand go.

The next hand was between Tian and Busse, where Hao Tian raised from early position and Shawn Busse defended from the big blind.

The {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} appeared on the flop and both players checked. The {3-Diamonds} was turn card and Busse check-called Tian's bet for 28,000.

The {q-Hearts} on the river completed the board and both players checked again, with Tian winning the pot opening ace-king, while Busse showed {j-Spades}{6-Spades} for jack-high and a busted flush draw.

Busse Gets Away Despite Having a Set

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The biggest pot of this level was a three-handed affair, between Shawn Busse, Changyang Liu and Xinglong Huang.

Huang raise from the hijack, Busse and Liu called from the small blind and big blind, respectively. The flop was {6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and all three players checked.

The {7-Spades} came on the river, and Liu bet 32,000 after Busse's check. Huang and Busse called the bet and they went all together to the river.

The card that completed the board was the {j-Diamonds} and all three players checked again. Busse opened a pair of sixes with a set, but Liu had {9-Spades}{5-Spades} with a straight. Huang mucked and Liu took the almost 150,000 pot.

Wei Huang is the Bubble Boy of the first of the APPT Jeju High Roller Events

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Wei Huang
Wei Huang

In a rapid fashion, the tournament just reached the money, with Wei Huang being the last player that left the field empty-handed. Huang played a crucial flip against Shawn Busse, but he didn't manage to win it.

The chips went in the middle preflop and the two players opened their cards.

Shawn Busse: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Wei Huang: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The flop was a disaster for Huang as he was already standing up when he saw the {k-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts} appear on the table. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn kept him on his seat as he picked up some outs but the {7-Clubs} on the river wasn't one of them.

Six players left, and they are all in the money. There is a short break now and the tournament staff are preparing the list with the stacks of the remaining players.

Vitaliy Kim Eliminated in 8th Place

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Vitaliy Kim
Vitaliy Kim

The first High Roller, here in 2019 APPT Jeju is on the bubble. Vitaliy Kim is the latest casualty of the event and this left seven players in the field.

Kim limped from middle position, and Jiang Chen was in the small blind raising to 30,000. Kim made the call and the flop came {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Chen grabbed a pile of his stack and put it in the middle, while Kim used one of his time banks before calling all in for the rest of his chips.

Jiang Chen: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Vitaliy Kim: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Kim needed a deuce, a club or running cards for a straight to stay alive but none of the above happened. The {j-Spades} on the turn and the {a-Hearts} on the river gave the pot to Chen who slightly covered his opponent.

Seven players are playing for six paid spots now.

Shawn Busse
Shawn Busse

Changyang Liu and Shawn Busse are the two biggest stacks in the final table and the latter just won their last battle.

Busse was in the small blind and he completed when the action folded to him. Liu was in the big blind and raised to 17,000 with Busse making the call.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Hearts} and both players checked. The {3-Diamonds} in the turn brought another check from Busse, and Liu bet 18,000. Busse called and the river was the {j-Hearts} bringing a third check from Busse. Liu considered his options and decided to bet 55,000. Busse didn't think about it for long before calling and his read was good.

Busse opened ace-nine for a pair of nines, while Liu had eight-three for a pair of threes.
