Zhang Binks the Flush

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Wayne Zhang
Wayne Zhang

When players get it in with ace-king versus ace-king, a split pot is very likely. In the case of Wayne Zhang, who had {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} versus {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, the rare case happened that he made a flush on the board {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} to score a double.

Wu Scores an Unlikely Chop to Chip Up

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Yake Wu
Yake Wu

After a three-bet, Yake Wu ended up all in for around 30,000 and was called two ways. Xiaosheng Zheng then bet the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop for 23,000 and the third player in the hand pushed all in. Zheng called for 52,900 and tabled the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

Wu had some chop outs with {a-Spades}{4-Spades} and the third player held {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for a full house. Nothing changed with the {2-Spades} turn, but the {8-Clubs} provided quads on the board and Wu chopped to boost his stack.

Daisuke Ogita
Daisuke Ogita

The latter had a flip with {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} against the {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} of fellow countryman Daisuke Ogita and the board of {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} gave Ogita a winning full house.

Siow Still in Contention

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Graeme Siow
Graeme Siow

The stack of Graeme Siow had been reduced to very few big blinds but he managed to double twice and jump back above average. The vital first double was a jam for the last 12,900 with {a-Spades}{6-Spades} versus {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and the board came {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

Back and Forth on Table 8

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The double up galore on table eight appears to take on an extraordinary roller coaster ride, as first Daisuke Ogita doubled through Huahuan Feng before Oleg Titov doubled through Ogita.

Feng was caught in the crossfire when Ogita made the nut full house with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} on a board of {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for more than 85,000 on the river.

A few minutes later it was Titov that grinned with the words "we again" while he raked in his double. Whether or not the fireworks will slow down any time soon remains to be seen.

Chong Gets a Lucky Double

Victor Chong headed over to the media desk with the words "Do you want another hand?" and then explained his fortunate double through Calvin Lee. According to Chong, he four-bet shoved for 48,000 with {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Lee called with {a-Spades}{k-Spades} to see the board run out {k-}{9-}{9-}{7-}{q-}.
