After Day 1 in the APPT Manila ₱500,000 Super High Roller, just 20 of the 51-player field remain in the largest buy-in of the 2019 festival.

Late registration and re-entry was open for nine levels today, and we saw plenty of action with Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin, Sejin Park, Bobby Zhang, Pachara Wongwichit, Sparrow Cheung and Bobby Zhang all joining the field.

Sadly, none of them were able to find a bag ahead of Day 2.

The chip leader heading into Day 2 is Graeme Siow who looked to be the only player over one million in chips after bagging 1,104,000. However, Xia Qing Jin also managed to sneak into seven-figure stack territory, bagging 1,002,000.

Then comes Malaysia's Lee Wai Kiat (910,000), Wayne Heung (897,000) and Lester Edoc (888,000).

Plenty of big names are left in contention, including Junichi Nakanowatari (728,000), Mike Takayama (604,000), 2019 WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (551,000), APPT Jeju Main Event champion Huidong Gu (539,000), Xixiang Luo (299,000) and Raymond Wu (249,000).

Payouts were confirmed late on Day 1 and with the top seven places sharing a prize pool of almost ₱24,000,000, there will be a massive first prize of ₱7,558,000 awaiting the winner.

APPT Jeju Main Event champion Huidong Gu has joined the field just as cards were in the air after a short delay. He defeated a field of 362 players to win ₩183,695,000 ($159,000) back in June this year.

Welcome to live coverage of the APPT Manila ₱500,000 Super High Roller. This is the biggest buy-in event at the 2019 APPT Manila festival and a whole host of big names are expected to jump into the field.

For their ₱500,000 (~$9,800) entry fee, players will receive 250,000 chips. Levels are 40 minutes with 12 levels scheduled for Day 1.

There is a 30-second shot clock in play, with players receiving six time banks at the start of play. They will receive three more at the start of Day 2 as well as at the final table.

Late registration and unlimited re-entry is allowed for the first nine levels.

Last year, it was Hong Kong's Ivan Hon Cheong Lee who took down a ₱200,000 High Roller for ₱4,676,260 ($87,953) and we will wait and see who adds their name to the list of 2019 APPT High Roller champions.
