After Day 1 in the APPT Manila ₱500,000 Super High Roller, just 20 of the 51-player field remain in the largest buy-in of the 2019 festival.

Late registration and re-entry was open for nine levels today, and we saw plenty of action with Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin, Sejin Park, Bobby Zhang, Pachara Wongwichit, Sparrow Cheung and Bobby Zhang all joining the field.

Sadly, none of them were able to find a bag ahead of Day 2.

The chip leader heading into Day 2 is Graeme Siow who looked to be the only player over one million in chips after bagging 1,104,000. However, Xia Qing Jin also managed to sneak into seven-figure stack territory, bagging 1,002,000.

Then comes Malaysia's Lee Wai Kiat (910,000), Wayne Heung (897,000) and Lester Edoc (888,000).

Plenty of big names are left in contention, including Junichi Nakanowatari (728,000), Mike Takayama (604,000), 2019 WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (551,000), APPT Jeju Main Event champion Huidong Gu (539,000), Xixiang Luo (299,000) and Raymond Wu (249,000).

Payouts were confirmed late on Day 1 and with the top seven places sharing a prize pool of almost ₱24,000,000, there will be a massive first prize of ₱7,558,000 awaiting the winner.

Gu Forces Out Edoc

Level 11 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Huidong Gu and Lester Edoc both checked the {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop and turn and the river was the {k-Clubs}. Gu bet 30,000 and Edoc raised to 70,000. Gu used a time extension before three-betting to 220,000.

Edoc took his time but eventually folded.

It looks like Siow Wei Lik at their table is the overall chip leader with close to 1.3 million after Xiaqing Ji dropped back somewhat.

Iyer Wins a Flip to Double

Level 10 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Abhinav Iyer opened to 20,000 from under the gun. It folded to Lifeng Yang in the big blind who three-bet all in, covering his opponent.

Iyer used a time bank before calling all in for his last 244,000.

Abhinav Iyer: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Lifeng Yang: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Iyer flopped a set on {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and although the {q-Hearts} opened up gutshot opportunities for Yang, the river was the {7-Diamonds} and Iyer doubled up.

Huang Doubles Through Takayama

Level 10 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Seongsu Kong opened to 25,000 and got calls from Yiqing Huang and Mike Takayama. The flop was {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and it checked to Huang who bet 50,000. Takayama check-raised all in, covering both players.

Kong folded and Huang used a time bank before calling.

Mike Takayama: {5-Spades}{7-Spades}
Yiqing Huang: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}

Huang was ahead with top pair against the straight draw of Takayama. The turn {j-Clubs} and river {q-Diamonds} changed nothing and Huang doubled up.
