Souissi No Longer in Contention; Elul Near the Top

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Selim Souissi recalled a hand in which he lost a large pot with aces versus kings and he was then knocked out soon after. His former table includes one big stack in Ori Elul, who knocked out yet another opponent when {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} prevailed versus {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a pair and combo-draw as the board was all but rushed away.

Madsen Scores a Knockout

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Lars Madsen
Lars Madsen

All the chips were in the middle preflop and Lars Madsen had the best of it with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} versus {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. That didn't change on the {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades} runout as the pot was pushed to the Dane.

Easy Pot for Kanjani

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Rajeev Kanjani raised to 1,400 and was called by Bongjoo Seo in the big blind. The {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop was checked to Kanjani, who bet 2,500 to win the pot right there without any further resistance.

Further assorted notable counts of the same table can be found below.

Menzel With a Big Stack

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

The action started with a limp and Max Menzel then raised to 1,700 to receive two callers while the limper folded. On the {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Spades} flop, Menzel bet just 500 and one opponent called before the {7-Clubs} turn and {9-Hearts} river were checked. The {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} of Menzel were good enough to win the pot and the German, now based in Singapore, has chipped up.

A few weeks ago, Menzel won his Platinum Pass during a PokerStars Live Event in Manila.

Double Knockout Propells Joseph Further Ahead

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Huu Dung Nguyen jammed for the last 8,300 and Joshua Tan called on the button. Adalsteinn Karlsson in the small blind then jammed all-in and Marc Joseph reshoved from the big blind. Tan tanked for a while and joked he usually never tanks, then called the clock on himself to fold within the extra 30 seconds.

Huu Dung Nguyen: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Adalsteinn Karlsson: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Marc Joseph: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Joseph knocked out two opponents.

Chauve Is Not Running Hot Yet

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Vincent Chauve had already been eliminated on the first bullet and entered again for the second and final bullet on Day 1a. On a heads-up river of {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, he bet 3,500 on the button and Jun Hao Wu check-called in the hijack.

Chauve mucked his cards to forfeit the pot and Wu claimed it without any need to show the cards.

Triple Up for Souissi

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Selim Souissi
Selim Souissi

Selim Souissi already had 3,100 invested by the time Ido Aboudi reraised and Suparerk Totsaponvisad had pushed all-in. He inquired about the re-entry option for the day and then called it off, putting both his opponents on ace-king.

Selim Souissi: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Suparerk Totsaponvisad: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Ido Aboudi: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

"Shit, that is very bad," Souissi joked but added "I can make a straight ...". The {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop was of no help but Souissi spiked the {5-Hearts} on the turn, then held on for the triple up on the {3-Hearts} river. From being down to a mere 10,000, he now tripled for 17,500 total while Totsaponvisad doubled the 9,900 he had behind against Aboudi.
