Ward is in Cruz Control

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Alexander Cruz tripled up his severe short stack with 99 as Li Fang isolated with the AK. The J9253 runout gave Cruz a set of nines.

Calvin Tan then aimed to double with A7 against the 77 of Thomas Ward but failed on the Q8486 board. Up next, Feridoun Farboud was knocked out by Cruz with the latter keeping his hopes of a Day 2 berth alive.
