Alexander Cruz tripled up his severe short stack with 9♥9♠ as Li Fang isolated with the A♥K♠. The J♥9♣2♥5♥3♠ runout gave Cruz a set of nines.
Calvin Tan then aimed to double with A♣7♥ against the 7♣7♠ of Thomas Ward but failed on the Q♥8♣4♠8♦6♠ board. Up next, Feridoun Farboud was knocked out by Cruz with the latter keeping his hopes of a Day 2 berth alive.
On the tail end of an encounter between Yue Shen and Dingxiang Ong, the latter bet the A♣6♦2♥4♥K♥ river for 7,500. Shen tanked for a minute to call and nodded when he was shown the A♥10♠ for the top pair, sliding his cards into the muck.

Li Fang was all-in for the last 27,000 with the A♦Q♥ and South Korea's Shin Jo Young took the flip with the 6♥6♠.
The board ran out J♥8♥4♥3♣A♣ and the ace on the river improved Fang. Young had around 12 blinds left and busted in the next hand.
Tung Wing Wong got his short stack in with the K♣5♣ and Noel Llamedo called in the small blind with the A♠9♠.
The A♣10♥7♠ flop seemingly sealed Wong's fate but he pulled a rabbit out of the hat with the 8♣ turn and 4♣ river.
