Flush for Katchalov

On the button, Craig Cockburn raised to 1,200. Team PokerStars Pro Eugene KatchalovTeam PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov called from the big blind, and the flop came down {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and paired the board. Katchalov checked, Cockburn bet 1,075, and Katchalov made the call.

Then, the {4-Diamonds} finished the board on the river. Katchalov checked, as did Cockburn before turning up his {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Katchalov showed the {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a flush and won the pot.

Guerin Done

Didier Guerin has just been knocked out, and he explained to us what happened. There was an under the gun raise to 1,600 and Guerin opted to call with {9-}{9-}. The player in the small blind called as well.

The flop brought out {10-}{8-}{2-} and the initial raiser bet 3,000, both Guerin and the small blind called.

On the turn the {K-Diamonds} hit and all three players checked. The river brought out a {9-}, and Guerin hit his set. The small blind all of a sudden bet 13,000 and the initial raiser folded. Guerin tanked for a very long time and said that he thought that just calling would've not been the right move. He raised all in for 27,000 total and his opponent called right away with {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Guerin lost his chips and left the tournament room.

Pan Takes Walthaus Down in Dutch Clash

Jimmy Pan finished runner up in this event last year to Randy Lew, and he's doing very well again this year. Fellow countryman Jorn Walthaus wasn't that fortunate, as he just ran into his friend's straight flush.

Pan raised preflop to 1,225 and Walthaus called, as did one other player. The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Pan fired out 2,100. Walthaus opted to call, and they went heads up to the turn.

On the turn the {3-Diamonds} showed up and Pan followed through with a 3,100-chip bet. Walthaus called once more and the river completed the board when the {4-Diamonds} hit. Pan decided to check and Walthaus grabbed chips. He threw out 6,000 but that didn't scare Pan. He check-raised to 22,500 and Walthaus quickly called.

Pan turned over {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a straight flush, and Walthaus flashed the {A-Diamonds} as he lost the majority of his chips. On the very next hand Pan raised to 1,525 and Walthaus moved all in for 1,700. Pan called.

Jorn Walthaus: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Jimmy Pan: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{K-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, and Walthaus was knocked out. Pan's hopes for back-to-back deep runs are still very well alive. After Walthaus was knocked out there are now just two Dutch players remaining. Gijs Verheijen is sitting out 55,000 chips, and even though that's below average he still has plenty of room to play.
