A King For Sass Turns Things Around

The cards were turned on their backs when we arrived on the scene. And it wasn't looking good for Alan Sass. After the hand was over we found out that Sass had called a five-bet from chip leader Andrew Gaw after he had put in a four-bet himself. The flop showed {Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Sass moved all in after Gaw had put in a 35,000-chip bet. Gaw called creating a monsterpot!

Alan Sass: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Andrew Gaw: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The turn brought out the {K-Clubs} and Sass hit his set. On the river the {Q-Spades} showed up and Sass raked in a massive pot.

"So lucky," Sass sighed as he was pushed the biggest pot of the tournament so far. "I guess I can't complain about bad luck in tournaments anymore," he added. Gaw took a big hit but still remains in the top ten.

Sass In Great Shape After Finding Aces

Alan Sass, who recently finished ninth in the Macau High Stakes Challenge, just doubled up giving himself a great stack at the start of Day 3.

When we arrived on the scene Sass had 6,500 out in front of him after which Yury Gulyy raised it up to 20,000. There were already quite some chips in the pot and Sass moved all in. Gulyy called instantly and was disappointed immediately.

Yury Gulyy: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Alan Sass: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Sass doubled up. He was all in for 71,400 and Gulyy was left behind with just 3,000 chips. On the very next hand Gulyy moved all in and the player to his left, Marcu Lau, three-bet to 6,500. The remaining players folded, and Gulyy went to showdown again.

Yury Gulyy: {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Marcus Lau: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and Gulyy was eliminated.

Li Doubles Through Scott

From the hijack seat, Andrew Scott opened with a raise to 2,700. Action then folded to Bjorn Li in the small blind, and he reraised to an unknown amount. Scott went all in, and Li called for 38,600 total.

Li held the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} and was up against the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for Scott.

The flop, turn and river ran out {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and Li doubled up. Scott was left with about 20,000 in chips.
