False Alarm

The marathon that has been the final two tables of the high roller's event just saw a jolt in the action that ultimately resulted in a chopped pot.

Aliansandr Dzianisan made it 8,000 to go from under-the-gun and Liz Lieu re-popped it to 25,000 from the button. The action folded back around to Dzianisan, who re-raised all in, having Lieu covered. Lieu stood up out of her chair and briefly considered her decision before eventually slamming her stack into the middle. A couple members of the audience spouted out, "Yeah!" thinking this might be the final hand of the night.

However, when the players turned over their cards, the anticipation died on the spot as both Lieu and Dzianisan revealed variations of Big Slick:

Lieu: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Dzianisan: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The flop brought some hope for those secretly plotting Lieu's demise, as it gave Dzianisan two diamonds and a chance for a runner-runner flush. The turn cooperated as well, bringing a third diamond for Dzianisan. Seemingly everyone in the room but Liz Lieu and her devoted fans let out a disappointed sigh as the river blanked off an inconsequential {7-Hearts}.

. . . and the band played on.
