Piol Stays Alive

Local Filipino player Erwin Piol got his money all in with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} against his opponent's {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} but his tournament life was in danger when the flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}.

The {8-Clubs} on the turn was no help, but the miracle river {Q-Spades} gave Piol a bigger full house and he is still alive with 7000 in chips.

Saab Getting Vocal

David Saab
David Saab
Australian poker pro David Saab has been up to his usual tricks, and a number of players have asked if there is anything within the rules to get him to stop talking so much! Saab is well-known in Australia for his verbal antics and this is a major part of his game.

Unfortunately for the other players there is no tournament rule against talking too much.

We caught up with this hand on a flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

With a pot of around 35,000, Australian player Paul Gianfriddo had two other players all in with his {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. His opponents showed {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The turn {5-Clubs} and river {3-Diamonds} kept Paul in front and he won a huge pot, eliminating two players.

Alec Torelli Eliminated

Swedish player Ulf Martensson raised from mid position to 800, and was called by Alec Torelli on the button, as well as the big blind. They all saw the flop of:

{K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The big blind checked, Martensson checked, and Torelli bet 1,600. The big blind folded and Martensson made the call.

Turn: {Q-Hearts}

Martensson led out for 4,000 and Torelli went into the tank before finally calling.

River: {3-Clubs}

Martensson moved all in for 16,000 and had Torelli covered. Torelli called instantly and triumphantly opened his {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, but looked devastated when Martensson showed {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}. Torelli was eliminated and Martensson now has over 40,000.
