David Lim took down last year’s ANZPT Auckland Main Event and is still alive with just around 49 players remaining on Day 2 of the current APPT Auckland.
There was a moment there where it might have been all over for Lim.
He was all in preflop for 17,400 with and was up against .
Lim found what he needed on the board and had his head back above water.
Matthew Barker opened to 3,600 from under the gun plus one. Jane Peters then moved all in for her last 15,600 from the cut off as the action folded back around to Barker. He thought about his decision for a moment before making the call.

Peters:
The board ran out to see Peters hold with her pocket pair as she doubled up to 35,500 in chips.
Zoran Farac and Minh Nguyen recently battled in a big hand.
We arrived on the turn of a board with Nguyen checking to Farac who bet 6,000. Nguyen then raised it up to 18,900 and Farac made the call. On the river, Nguyen led for 44,400 and Farac thought for just a while before making the call.
Farac would have to muck at the sight of Nguyen’s for a flopped flush.
Nguyen is now moving up towards the pointy end of the chip leader board.
The table folded around to Matthew Barker on the button who raised it up to 3,600. Michael Guzzardi and Ryan Otto made the call from the blinds as the three watched the flop come down .
Guzzardi and Otto checked then watched as Barker slid out a continuation bet of 5,200. Only Guzzardi made the call as the fell on the turn.
Both players checked before the dealer produced the on the river. Guzzardi checked one last time prompting Barker to bet out 8,300 moments later. Guzzardi went into the tank for a minute before casually placing out a raise to 20,000. Barker contemplated his decision before making the call.
Guzzardi then tabled his for a straight as Barkers cards went into the muck.
Matthew Barker recently sent Rachel Bellard to the rail.
We picked up the action on the turn of a board. This is where Bellard’s short stack in with for the open ended straight draw. Barker had for top pair. The river gave Bellard a pair, but enough to win the pot as she was out the door.
Minh Nguyen and Zoran Farac have been battling it out over on their table. They recently played another hand, this time on a board. This one started with someone opening to 5,200, which Nguyen then three-bet to 12,600 from the button. Farac four-bet to 23,000 from the big blind and the original opener got out of the way, while Nguyen called.
Farac led for 16,000 on the flop, which Nguyen called and for 23,000 on the turn, which Nguyen also called. On the river, both players checked and Nguyen showed – enough to send Farac’s into the muck.
