Chee Gone

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The action folded around to Terangi Matenga on the button who raised it up to 4,000. Yuet Chee then moved all in for 31,000 from the big blind and was called shortly after.

Matenga: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Chee: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{a-Clubs} to see Matenga improve to a full house on the river as another player hit the rail.

Hussey On the Rail

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

It took two back-to-back hands to eliminate Darryl Hussey.

The first one saw John Brugman all in preflop for 27,500. He was up against Darryl Hussey who had around 30,000 behind. Brugam held {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} against Hussey’s {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. There was no help for Hussey and so he was left with 2,500 in chips, while Brugman had doubled up.

The very next hand saw Hussey all in from the big blind. Matty Yates was also all in, from the button, while it was Matt Carter who had them both all in. Hussey had just {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Yates had the {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Carter held {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

The {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades} board meant Hussey was on the rail, while Yates had doubled up and Carter had taken a fair hit to his stack.

Brabin Falls

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Luke Brabin
Luke Brabin

We just saw Luke Brabin jump out of his chair in disappointment. We rushed over to see that he committed all his chips in on a flop of {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} holding {a-Spades}{q-Spades} but had run into Carl Boag’s {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}.

Brabin’s fate was sealed when the {5-Diamonds} on the turn improved Boag’s hand to a full house. The meaningless {10-Hearts} fell on the river to complete the board.

With Brabin out, only David Lim and Dean Blatt are left with a chance to capture the player of the year title.

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Anthony Legg moved all in for his last 6,700 from the cut off. Dean Blatt was in the small blind and moved all in resulting in Stephen Thompson folding his big blind.

Legg: {7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Blatt: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} to see Legg unable to connect in anyway as he was sent to the rail.

Lim Survives

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The hand started with Michael Guzzardi raising to 4,800 from under the gun plus one. David Lim then moved all in for just short of 10,000 from the hijack. Terangi Matenga made the call from the blinds and Guzzardi completed the call.

The flop came down {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and both live players checked. The same happened when the {q-Diamonds} fell on the turn before the {a-Spades} completed the board.

Matenga checked and Guzzardi bet 20,000. It was enough to force Matenga out of the pot before Guzzardi tabled his {a-Clubs}{5-Spades} for top pair. Lim then casually rolled over his {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} for a set and raked in the pot.
