Andy Chan Eliminated in 11th Place (₩10,280,000

Andy Chan

Andy Chan was down to his final 53,000 chips when he just moved all in from the hijack. Kosaku Akashi tanked for a bit and called from the small blind after which Chane Kampanatsanyakorn called from the big.

The flop brought {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and both players who still had chips left decided to check.

On the turn the {A-Hearts} hit and Akashi checked again to Kampanatsanyakorn who bet 70,000 this time around. Akashi called and on the river the {5-Hearts} hit.

Both players checked and Akashi showed [Ac8c8] which was no good against Kampanatsanyakorn's {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, as he had rivered a flush. Chan showed {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and he was eliminated in 10th place.

Play will now continue with two tables of five until we lose one more player before the Final 9 create the official final table.

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Kosaku Akashi
Kosaku Akashi

The action began when Chane Kampanatsanyakorn raised to 35,000 from under the gun. Directly to his left, Chris Haggart made the call. It then folded around to Kosaku Akashi in the big blind who went all in.

After studying Akashi's stack, Kampanatsanyakorn folded. Haggart, however asked for a count and was told he would need another 170,000 to call. Haggart made the call and turned over {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} while Akashi showed {k-Spades}{q-Spades}. The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Akashi is stacking some chips.

Break Time

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The players are up from the tables for another ten minute break. See you back here is a few.

Slow Play

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Play has really slowed down following the last round of eliminations. We are pretty confident in saying we have not seen a river except for one hand. It was blind vs. blind and it was checked the whole way.

The players will be headed to break in about ten minutes. We'll see if stretching their legs will get their blood and their chips moving.

Toshimasa Kawahira Eliminated in 12th Place (₩10,280,000)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The unprecedented run of Keiichiro Sugimoto continues as he just woke up with a huge hand to knock out Toshimasa Kawahira in 12th place. All the chips ended up in the middle before the flop and the showdown went as following as Kawahira was at risk for 160,000 chips.

Sugimoto: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}
Kawahira: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Kawahira was knocked out. Just 11 players remain and Sugimoto, after being crippled not too long ago, is now a real contender as we get closer and closer to the final table.
