Tan Critiques His Own Play

We were recently standing over Teac Mang Tan's table, trying to figure out what had happened to his stack. It reached a high point of about 70,000 earlier in the day but had regressed all the way to about 35,000. While there we witnessed Tan play a hand against one opponent.

Tan had first action on a board of {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} {9-Diamonds}. He opened for 1,100 then quickly called his opponent's raise to 3,000 straight. The turn was the {7-Spades}. Tan checked then called another 3,500. Both players checked the {4-Clubs} river. Lets have a look, gentlemen!

Tan: {9-Clubs} {6-Diamonds}
Opponent: {9-Spades} {5-Clubs}

It was a chopped pot.

"Man am I a donkey," said Tan after he collected his half of the pot. "What a calling station, huh? I'll call anything."
