Hand #6 - Peter Rho

Zach Gruneberg has the button in Seat 1. Stewart Scott opens the pot with a raise to 55,000. Peter Rho, absent-mindedly riffling chips with his right hand, takes about twenty seconds before reraising to 150,000. Action quickly folds back to Scott, who double-checks his cards before flashing the {A-Clubs} and surrendering his hand.

Stewart Scott has the button in Seat 5. Zach Gruneberg makes the opening raise to 60,000. Elliot Smith calls in position. Everyone else passes, bringing us to our second flop. It comes out {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {3-Hearts}. Gruneberg is first to act and wastes no time in betting 70,000. Smith is still as stone for thirty seconds, then grabs eight chocolate (25,000) chips and puts them in the middle -- a raise to 200,000. Gruneberg quickly calls. A big pot is developing.

The turn pairs the board, falling {A-Spades}. Gruneberg checks quickly to Smith. It takes Smith thirty seconds to grab ten chocolate chips and bet 250,000. Gruneberg quickly calls. The pot is now huge, with more than a million chips in it!

The river is the {10-Spades}, double-pairing the board. We may be heading for a chopped pot. Gruneberg quickly moves all in and Smith calls. Gruneberg shows {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}; he rivered a chop out of Smith, who shows {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. It is indeed a chopped pot. Gruneberg got off lucky there.

Rajkumar Ramakrishnan has the button in Seat 7. Action passes all the way to Ramakrishnan, who limps into the pot. Capra completes his small blind, but Gruneberg doesn't let them get in that cheaply. He raises to 104,000. Only Ramakrishnan calls.

{j-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} is the flop. Gruneberg wastes no time in betting 100,000. Each of his actions so far today has been quick and decisive. Ramakrishnan acts just as quickly, coming over the top to 400,000. Gruneberg has his first big decision of the day and finally slows down to think it through. He releases his hand after thirty seconds. Ramakrishnan takes down a nice pot.

Sam Capra has the button in Seat 8. Action folds to Zach Gruneberg in the small blind. He calls and Barny Boatman checks. The flop comes {5-Hearts} {8-Spades} {4-Hearts} and both players check. The turn is the {10-Clubs} and Gruneberg bets 30,000. Boatman pops it to 100,000 and Gruneberg quickly lets go of his hand.

Hand #14 - Sam Capra

Zach Gruneberg has the button in Seat 1. Sam Capra opens the pot with a raise to 60,000. Action passes to Elliot Smith in the big blind. He calls.

The flop comes down {10-Hearts} {4-Spades} {6-Hearts}. Smith quickly checks to Capra, who makes it 60,000 to go. Smith must not like the flop; he folds his hand, allowing Capra to take down a small pot.

Players Settling In

We're fourteen hands into the final table. The players, as to be expected, are cautiously feeling each other out. The one big pot that developed turned into a chop by the river. One thing that we've seen so far is that Stewart Scott is either not getting anything in the way of playable cards or is feeling a bit "tight" this morning. He tried one or two early raises that were unsuccessful and has not yet won a hand today.
