Hand #60 - Rajkumar Ramakrishnan

A tough decision for Peter Rho.
A tough decision for Peter Rho.
Sam Capra has the button in Seat 8. Peter Rho raises to 80,000 and is called only by the player on his immediate left, Rajkumar Ramakrishnan. The flop comes down {5-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {6-Hearts}. Rho checks to the aggressive Ramakrishnan, who fires out for 110,000. Rho calls after thirty seconds, with Zach Gruneberg loudly chatting away the entire time Rho is thinking.

Rho and Ramakrishnan both check the {7-Hearts} turn. The river brings a third club, the {J-Clubs}, and another check from Rho. Ramakrishnan bets 150,000. Rho is biting his lip and furrowing his brow. He looks confused and sighs deeply as he tries to puzzle out Ramakrishnan's likely range. He's still in the tank after a minute and starts rubbing his forehead with one hand, then shaking his head. He licks his lips in an effort to calm himself down, then finally (and reluctantly) surrenders his hand.

Hand #61 - Stewart Scott

Zach Gruneberg has the button in Seat 1. He raises to 80,000 and Stewart Scott calls from the big blind. The flop comes down {4-Spades} {A-Spades} {2-Clubs} and Scott checks. Gruneberg bets 100,000 and Scott raises it up to 250,000. Gruneberg gives it up and Scott wins the pot.

Hand #63 - Elliot Smith

Stewart Scott has the button in Seat 5. Elliot Smith raises to 80,000 from the cutoff and Rajkumar Ramakrishnan raises to 350,000 from the big blind. Smith thinks for a minute before moving all in. Ramakrishnan asks for a count and its 995,000 more to call. He quickly calls and shows {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. Smith tables {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and a race for roughly 3 million in chips is ensues.

The flop is {K-Clubs} {A-Spades} {2-Hearts} and Ramakrishnan takes the lead. Smith looks as though he has accepted his fate, but when the {J-Clubs} arrives on the turn, he swiftly turns and pumps his fist, having taken the lead. Ramakrishnan needs a ten on the river to win the hand, but its the {3-Spades}.

Elliot Smith doubles up to around 3,000,000 while Rajkumar Ramakrishnan takes a hit to roughly 1,500,000.

Hand #65 - Elliot Smith

Rajkumar Ramakrishnan has the button in Seat 7. Elliot Smith raises to 100,000 and is called only by Sam Capra. The flop comes down {k-Hearts} {2-Spades} {3-Diamonds}. Capra checks it over to Smith, who bets another 100,000. Capra again calls.

The turn is the {8-Hearts}. Capra changes things up by leading into Smith for 200,000. Smith, newly flush with chips, decides to call. The river falls {3-Hearts}, putting three to a flush and a pair on the board. Both players check. Capra shows {6-Clubs} {6-Spades} for sixes and threes; Smith tables {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} for two pair, eights and threes, and the winner.

Play Resumes

Cards are back in the air. While the players were away at dinner, chip leader Stewart Scott changed his entire outfit. He's now wearing a gray button-down shirt and dark blazer.
