Antonius Joins the Action

We haven't mentioned Patrik Antonius yet today. To be honest, Antonius has had a quiet Day 2 so far. He started off with about 140,000 chips, moved up slightly, and then started to trend downwards, one small pot at a time. He was flirting with falling below six figures in chips when he wound up in a big pot with Gary Benson. Benson check-called a bet of 5,000 from Antonius on a flop of {9-Clubs}

. The turn paired the board, coming {A-Spades}

. Benson checked a second time, then called Antonius' bet of 14,000. Antonius didn't slow down on the river {5-Clubs}

. He bet 38,000 after Benson checked. Benson called with what we imagine must have been trip aces. He never showed his hand because Antonius turned over {8-Hearts}

for eights full of aces.

Antonius is back up to 165,000 as a result of the hand. Benson is barely above the starting stack. He has 24,000.
