Neilson Napping

Or at least he could be soon. He is now going backwards at less than half his previous stack.

He got tangled up against Leo Margets again. Preflop, Neilson made it 45,000 to go and Margets called. They both checked the {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop.

Neilson fired 55,000 at the turn {k-Clubs} and Margets check-called. On the river {5-Clubs} Margets fired 100,000 and Neilson called.

He wasn't happy to see her {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades} and mucked.

Margets has 670,000. Neilson is down to 490,000.

Lunardi Pushes Over One Million

Kristian Lunardi has crossed the one million chip milestone via Daniel Neilson.

Neilson opened the small blind to 50,000 and Lunardi called from the big blind. The {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop would be Neilson's final effort to take down the pot - he bet 65,000 and when Lunardi called, they checked down the turn {7-Hearts} and river {7-Clubs}.

Neilson showed {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}, while Lunardi tabled {Q-Spades}{j-Clubs} to take the pot.

Neilson sinks to 460,000. Lunardi has just over 1,000,000 in chips.

Stecker Doubles

After being the most active early on Mike Stecker went back into his shell and dwindled to 319,000.

He recently decided it was time to make a move from 15 big blinds, so he open shoved the button with {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}.

He wasn't expecting to run into Kristian Lunardi's {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. But he did.

When the flop came {Q-Spades}{A-Spades}{8-Spades} no one was expecting Stecker to survive. But he did.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and after the river blanked the {2-Clubs} Stecker moves to 654,000. Lunardi drops to around 600,000 and we have a virtual four way tie, with all of the players sitting around 30 big blinds at the moment.

Don't Call It A Comeback

Daniel Neilson has rushed back into the lead of this tournament.

First he took the lion's share of Mike Stecker's stack.

Neilson opened to 45,000 preflop and took Stecker to the flop. They checked off the {4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop. Neilson fired 60,000 at the turn {9-Spades} and Stecker check-called.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and Neilson upped it to 120,000 with Stecker check-calling again.

Neilson showed him {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for trips. This pushed him up to 895,000. Stecker dropped to 243,000.

On one of the next hands he got involved with Kristian Lunardi. Lunardi made it 55,000 to go and Neilson called from the big blind. On the {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop. Neilson checked, Lunardi made it 50,000 and the came the check-raise to 125,000.

It would be enough for Neilson to take it down and move up to 1,000,000 in chips.

Lunardi Restrains Neilson

Just when it looked like Daniel Neilson was back in business, Kristian Lunardi has brought him crashing back to earth.

Preflop, Neilson completed the small blind and Lunardi checked his option in the big blind. The flop came {9-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Neilson led 30,000. Lunardi came over the top for 75,000 and Neilson moved in. Lunardi made the call.

Lunardi: {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Neilson: {4-Spades}{6-Spades}

Neilson was hoping to get there on the flush draw, but it would miss with the turn {k-Diamonds} and river {4-Clubs} moving Lunardi up to 888,000. It drops Neilson back to 612,000.
