Trask Back on Track

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

The action has slowed down significantly as we edge closer to the money (14 places away, to be exact), but Grant Trask is now on a stack worth more than 125,000 after eliminating Mark Furness.

Trask raised to 3,500 from middle position and both Matthew Konnecke and Ali Askoy called from the hijack and cutoff positions respectively before Furness reraised all-in for 12,500 from the small blind. Trask called, Konnecke folded and Askoy called to make it heads-up to a sidepot on a flop of {Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Trask deliberated before pushing out a bet worth 32,000. Askoy went deep into the tank and after about three minutes, he reluctantly let his hand go, leaving Trask and Furness to show down their hands:

Furness: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Trask: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}

There was little to no hope for Furness; despite the turn of the {5-Spades} giving him a few more outs, the river {3-Spades} sealed the deal for Trask and Furness' fate. Trask is now up to 129,000 in chips.
