Polchlopek In Control

Table 18 is the closest table to reaching a finish. Going into three-handed play, James Obst was in control. That was, until a massive hand recently played out.

We caught the action with a flop showing {7-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Obst in the hand against Michal Polchlopek. This is when Polchlopek check-raised to 47,000 and Obst made the call. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn saw Polchlopek lead this time, making it 60,000 to go. The {5-Hearts} on the river saw Polchlopek shove his stack all in - for 160,800.

Obst went deep into the tank, thinking for a few minutes before Polchlopek eventually called the clock on him. Immediately after having the clock called on him, Obst flung his cards into the muck and sent the big pot to Polchlopek.

Foster Makes Good Call, Still Busted

Joshua Foster gets $4,000 for coming fifth at his table, but for the cards, he could've won more.

The action folded to him in the small blind and he raised, only to see Melanie Weisner move all-in behind him. He thought for a while and made a good call with {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, as Weisner had {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

The board ran {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to pair the New Yorker's king. Both players made good plays, the cards just fall that way sometimes.

Time To Break

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

The remaining players have been sent on a break. Table 18 is still the closest table to finishing up, with 3 players remaining.

Level: 18

Blinds: 4,000/8,000

Ante: 500

Couple of Bustouts

Back from the break and we have already lost a couple of players. First it was Melanie Weisner on Table 14. Weisner was all in holding {6-}{6-} and had to come up against {k-}{j-}. When the board was dealt with two jacks, Wesiner was eliminated in 4th place on her table, going home with $5,000.

Geroge Moussa was then eliminated on Table 10, running his {a-}{8-} into {k-}{k-}. Moussa goes home in 5th place on his table, taking $4,000 with him.

First Two Through

Billy Argyros just shoved his stack in preflop holding {a-Spades}{3-Hearts} and ran into Polchlopek's {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The board gave no help for Argyros and with that Table 18 has come to an end.

The elimination of Argyros makes James Obst and Polchlopek the first members of the final table. It is looking very likely that Polchlopek will start the final table with the chip lead.

Betts Busts Brkovic

Aleks Brkovic was hoping to follow his friend James Obst into the final table, but that won't be the case.

He three-bet all-in with {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} from the small blind after Mark Betts opened from the button. Betts snapped with {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} and sailed through the {6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs} board. He takes home $5,000 for his efforts.

This table (10) and 14 are both three handed now, whereas table 15 is lagging behind with five players still remaining.

Fifteen (Finally) Loses Another One

Table 15 was going considerably slower than the other two remaining tables, but has just seen their 5th place finisher hit the rail.

It was Rhys Jones who was the next to go, getting it all in holding {a-}{5-} and coming up against {5-}{5-}. The board gave Jones no help as he was eliminated in 5th place at his table, taking home $4,000.

Table 10 Ends with Toma Exit

Mark Betts has taken care of another player to finish his table and he will take a big stack through to the final table.

He was heads-up to a {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop and checked from the small blind. Tsugunari Toma was in the big blind and moved all-in with {q-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Betts tanked and made a great call with {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} to improve Betts' hand to a straight.

Adam Cusenza is the other player to progress from table 10.

Another Table Down

Sandeep Pulusani has been sent hom in 4th place on Table 15 and Aaron Lim has just been eliminated in 3rd place, meaning Jamie Pickering and Ross Parkhill will now be heading to the final table.

Lim and Pulusani both had bounties on their head and when Pickering sent them both to the rail, he picked up $2,000 in bounty prizes.

With that, only one bustout remains until our final table!
