Rubie Gifted a Double

After the under-the-gun player limped in, Manig Loeser raised to 700 from the button. Winner of the Opening Event, Brendon Rubie, reraised all in for 3,700 from the big blind. The limped took some time, got the official count and then made the call. Loeser mulled things over for a minute or two and then folded.

Rubie: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop, turn and river ran out {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Spades} and Rubie doubled up.

Kinkade Got The Skills That Kills, Gills

Jay Kinkade has just got the better of Oliver Gill. A three-bet pot saw the two players take to a flop showing {5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. This is when Kinkade check-shoved after Gill bet 1,000. Gill made the call and tabled his {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, way behind the {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for Kinkade.

Kinkade's flopped straight stayed in front all the way to the river as Kinkade took down the handy pot.

Ellwood busts Zane to Claim Bounty

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

David Zhao is the latest bounty to fall after a squeeze play went wrong. Jack Ellwood opened to 375 and was called in one spot before Zhao shipped in for 6,150. The action was back on Ellwood and he tanked before he moved all-in for 7,000. That was enough to scare off the third party.

Zhao: {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Ellwood: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

The board ran {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Ellwood is two-thirds of the way to free-rolling this event.

Rubie The Bounty Busto

Brendon Rubie will have to be content with his win in the opening event, because he is down and out. Rubie called bets on every street against John McNaughton on a {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts} board and then mucked on the river and exited the tournament area when McNaughton tabled his {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.
