We're not sure of the preflop action, but we do know Jeremy Simon got his stack of roughly 400,000 all in from the small blind holding and was well behind the of Jarrod Glennon in the big.
The flop was disaster for Simon as it delivered Glennon two pair. In order to survive Simon needed running cards, but the turn put an end to that. Simon was drawing dead headed to the river, which came the . Simon was eliminated in 18th place for AU$55,000 while Glennon chipped up to 1.1 million.
Kitty Kuo has been fighting valiantly here on Day 4, but her run just came to an end in 17th place courtesy of Patrik Antonius.
It happened when Kuo got het last 100,000 or so all in preflop holding . Much to the dismay of her rail, Antonius had her crushed with the . Kuo was on her feet and calling for hearts, but she would only get one on the flop. Kuo, as well as her supporters, continued to call for a heart, but they were silenced when the turned to pair Antonius and leave Kuo drawing dead.
The meaningless was run out on the river for good measure as Kuo made her way to the payout desk in 17th place.
Joseph Cabret opened for 35,000 under the gun and then called when Ang Pangleng three-bet to 92,000 from the button. Cabret then check-called a bet of 82,000 on the flop before both players checked the turn and river.
Pangleng revealed for king high, but it was no good as Cabret held .
We just saw a big pot go down that resulted in Patrik Antonius vaulting to well over 2 million in chips.
It happened when Naz Sibaei opened for 32,000 from the cutoff and Antonius defended from the big blind. The Finn proceeded to take the lead in the pot by betting 40,000 on the flop, which Sibaei called. Antonius fired another 78,000 on the turn, but this time Sibaei pushed back with a raise to 205,000. Not to be outdone, Antonius three-bet to 340,000 and then called when Sibaei moved all in for around 500,000 more.
Antonius:
Sibaei:
Both players had turned a straight, but unfortunately for Sibaei his was smaller. That meant he needed a nine on the river just to chop, and while the was close, it was one pip too many.
Sibaei exited in 16th place and was replaced at Table 10 by Ang Pangleng.
Daniel Laidlaw, who has been laying low much of the day, opened for 32,000 from early position and was met by a three-bet to 81,000 by Ang Pangleng on the button. The blinds folded, Laidlaw moved all in for 188,000 more, and Pangleng made the call.
Laidlaw:
Pangleng:
The crowd reacted sharply when a four appeared int he window, but it was safe enough for Laidlaw as it was followed by a jack on the flop. The turn improved Laidlaw to a flush, but it also gave Pangleng two pair and a draw at a full house. The dealer burned and put down the , giving Laidlaw a welcomed double.
Man Hei Lam opened for 32,000 only to have [Removed:17] three-bet to 87,000. Action folded back to Hei Lam and he moved all in for 600,000 or so, which Yan called.
Yan:
Hei Lam:
Like we've seen so many times this tournament, it was a flip. The flop seemed innocuous enough for Hei Lam, but the turn did give Yan added outs to a wheel. All Hei Lam needed to do was dodge an ace, queen and three on the river, but he couldn't do it as the spiked on the river to give Yan the straight.
