Dan Shak Eliminated in 4th Place (AU$400,000)

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Dan Shak - 4th Place
Dan Shak - 4th Place

Dan Shak came close to a title in the 2013 Aussie Millions $100,000 Challenge when he finished in fourth place for AU$237,000, and now his bid at another title has come to an end in the same place.

It happened when Shak opened for 250,000 under the gun and was met by a three-bet to 760,000 by Joe Cabret on the button. The blinds both folded, Shak moved all in, and Cabret snap-called.

Shak: {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Cabret: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

It was a bad time for Shak to shove as Cabret had him crushed. The {5-Clubs}{q-Spades}{a-Diamonds} flop gave both a pair of aces, but Cabret's king kicker had him well out in front. Neither the {10-Clubs} turn nor {3-Spades} river helped Shak and once again he had to be satisfied with a fourth-place finish, this one good for AU$400,000.

Jarrod Glennon Eliminated in 5th Place (AU$290,000)

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Jarrod Glennon - 5th Place
Jarrod Glennon - 5th Place

After nearly six hours since the last elimination, a monster pot just went down that resulted in the elimination of Australian Jarrod Glennon.

It happened when Joe Cabret opened for 160,000 under the gun for 160,000 and then called when Glennon three-bet to 375,000 from the button. Cabret then check-called a bet of 325,000 on the {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop before leading out for 825,000 on the {10-Clubs} turn. Glennon called, the {2-Hearts} peeled off on the river, and Cabret moved all in.

Glennon hit the tank for a solid eight minutes weighing the decision. He shifted in his chair, shook his head, and continued to ruffle chips. Eventually he called off his remaining 2 million or so and Cabret revealed {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a flush. Glennon looked crushed and simply tossed his cards to the dealer before exiting the tournament in fifth place for AU$290,000.

Cabret Doubles

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Patrik Antonius opened to 160,000 on the button, Dan Shak called in the small blind, and Joseph Cabret three-bet to 605,000 from the big blind. Antonius folded, Shak moved all in for effectively 2.35 million, and Cabret snap-called.

Shak: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Cabret: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Cabret remained ahead as the flop fell {2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, and Shak was drawing dead once the {k-Hearts} turned.

A meaningless {10-Spades} completed the board, and Cabret was shipped a massive double.

[Removed:17] Eliminated in 6th Place (AU$220,000)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
[Removed:17] - 6th Place
[Removed:17] - 6th Place

New Zealand's [Removed:17] open-shoved for 780,000 under the gun and received a call from Mervin Chan in the cutoff. The button and both blinds folded and the cards were turned up.

Yan: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Chan: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

It was a bad spot for the SuperNova Elite as he had run pocket eights into a bigger pocket pair. According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Chan was an 81.31% favorite and Yan only had a 18.23% chance of survival. That dropped to 13.23% on the {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, which gave him a running straight draw, but the useless {3-Hearts} turn bumped him down to just 4.55%.

Yan needed an eight on the river to survive, but it wasn't in the cards as the {7-Clubs} peeled off. With that, Yan was eliminated in sixth place for AU$220,000.

Jay Tan Eliminated in 7th Place (AU$150,000)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Jay Tan - 7th Place
Jay Tan - 7th Place

Patrik Antonius opened to 60,000 from under the gun, Dan Shak called on his direct left, and Jay Tan three-bet to 175,000 on his direct left. The action folded back to Antonius, and he four-bet to 385,000. Shak quickly folded, and Tan moved all in for around one million chips. Antonius snap-called.

Antonius: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Tan: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The flop was {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, which didn't improve Tan at all. The {6-Hearts} on the turn took away one of her outs, and the {7-Clubs} on the river ender her 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event.

Tan will not best her boyfriend "Hong Kong" Kenny Wong's runner-up finish in 2012, but she will walk away with AU$150,000.

Welcome to the 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event Final Table!

Patrik Antonius
Patrik Antonius

Welcome to the fifth and final day of the 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event. What started with 629 players is down to the final table of 7. Leading the pack is a familiar face at the Aussie Millions, Dan Shak. The American, who won the $100,000 Challenge back in 2010 and finished fourth in it earlier in the week for AU$237,000, begins the final table with 3,775,000.

It is there that he'll be joined by the likes of Patrik Antonius, Mervin Chan, Jay Tan, Jarrod Glennon, Joseph Cabret and [Removed:17]. Obviously the fan favorite is Antonius, who finished Day 1c of this tournament as chip leader and never looked back. The deep runs of both Shak and Antonius prevented them, as well as Phil Ivey (30th place for AU$35,000) from playing in this year's $250,000 Challenge, which was won last night by Sam Trickett. As such, they're both hungry to make up for it by capturing the $1,600,000 first-place prize and accompanying automobile.

Other payouts include: 2nd-AU$1,000,000; 3rd-AU$600,000; 4th-AU$400,000; 5th-AU$290,000; and 6th-AU$220,000.

In addition, Tan is trying to best her boyfriend "Hong Kong" Kenny Wong's runner-up finish in last year's Aussie Millions Main Event, and Cabret is representing the local Melbourne contingent, so you might say he has home-field advantage.

Here's a look at how the final table stacks up:
