Hiya!

Level 12 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

A very short-stacked Phil Ivey was all in and at risk for 50,000 prior to the break, and Richard Yong had him at risk.

Ivey: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Yong: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Ivey was in great shape to double with the dominant pair, but the {3-Clubs} peaked through the window, followed by the {q-Diamonds} and {9-Hearts}.

"Hiya!" Yong yelled excitedly.

Ivey was started to get out of his chair as the {4-Hearts} fell on the turn, and his butt was out of his seat when the {k-Spades} spiked on the river.

"Whoa," Ivey said under his breath as the rail exploded.

"You got out of your seat," Igor Kurganov noted. "That's an old-school move."

"I'm an old-school player," Ivey responded.

An Inferior Kickers Spells Doom for Yu

Level 12 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Winfred Yu
Winfred Yu

Winfred Yu got his stack all in preflop and was at risk against Martin Jacobson, who had his opponent covered by a single T1,000 chip!

Yu: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Jacobson: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Both players held an ace, which meant it came down to the kicker. As you can see, Yu was lacking in that department. The {6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop was dry as could be, but the {3-Spades} turn opened up some counterfeit options. Unfortunately for Yu, it didn't develop as the {8-Spades} blanked on the river to send him home in 20th place.

Rossiter Off to the Races

Level 12 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

"All in and a call," a dealer yelled. As we're trained to do, we jetted over there and discovered the following cards laid out in front of their respective players.

Jeff Rossiter: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}
David Steicke: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Rossiter, who finished 13th in the 2014 Aussie Millions Main Event last night, was racing for his tournament life and looking to hold, but that proved easier said than done as the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop delivered Steicke a jack and the lead.

Rossiter began to rise after the dealer put out the {5-Clubs} on the river, and then officially took his leave in 19th place when the {8-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Ivey Eliminated

Level 12 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Fabian Quoss opened to 20,000 in the hijack seat, Martin Jacobson three-bet to 50,000 on the button, and both blinds released. Quoss made the call, then the German check-called a bet of 47,000 on a flop of {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {k-Hearts}, Quoss checked again, and Jacobson fired out 75,000. Quoss' clock ticked down 26 seconds before he announced that he was all in, and only a second expired before Jacobson folded.

Two hands later, Phil Ivey was all in and at risk for around 100,000 in middle position, Jacobson was all in for a little more on his direct left, and Quoss had them both at risk and covered.

Quoss: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Ivey: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Jacobson: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Quoss snatched the lead away when the flop fell {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}, giving him aces and kings, but Jacobson turned a full house when the {7-Diamonds} spiked onto the felt.

"Ace!" Ivey called out, trying to will the {a-Spades} to peel off on the river.

It did not as the {4-Hearts} completed the board, and Ivey was eliminated. Jacobson is back to 330,000 chips, while Quoss dropped a bit to 773,000.

"So Many Outs"

Level 12 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

That's what Igor Kurganov said after getting his chips all in on a flop of {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Kurganov held the {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for an opened-ended straight draw and two overs against the {a-Clubs}{2-Spades} of fellow German Fabian Quoss.

Indeed, there were plenty of cards that would help Kurganov, but none of them would come as the {Q-Clubs} blanked on the turn followed by the {A-Diamonds} on the river.

Yong Gone

Level 13 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Wai Kin Yong and Yevgeniy Timoshenko checked to Patrik Antonius on a flop of {q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. He fired out 27,000, Yong check-raised to 62,000, and Timoshenko folded. Antonius moved all in for effectively 200,000 or so, and Yong quickly called.

Yong: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Antonius: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

Yong need a king or queen to survive, but received neither as the turn and river came {3-Spades}, {a-Diamonds} respectively. Hit the rail short of the money, while Antonius is up to a million chips.

Durrrr Gets There

Level 13 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

Tom Dwan checked to Ryan Riess on a flop of {8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event winner fired out 29,000. Dwan put in a check-raise, making it 68,000 to go, Riess re-raised, and Dwan moved all in for 178,000. Riess instantly called.

Riess: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Dwan: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Riess was in great shape to record the knockout and climb back up to 800,000 chips, but the {9-Spades} slammed on the turn. Riess clenched his fist momentarily at the sight of the card, then regained his composure as the {5-Hearts} completed the board.

Dwan doubled to 450,000 chips, while Riess still has 30 big blinds.

Newey Doubles Through Timoshenko

Level 13 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Ryan Riess opened the action for 27,000 and was met by a three-bet to 70,000 by Yevgeniy Timoshenko in the cutoff. A short-stacked Paul Newey then moved all in from the button for 144,000, Riess folded, and Timoshenko made the call.

Timoshenko: {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Newey: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Newey was well out in front and stayed there as the board ran out {5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.
