Dwan with the Old Check-Raise

Level 9 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jason Mercier opened for 8,000 from middle position and Isaac Haxton called from the hijack. Tom Dwan and Christoph Vogelsang came along from the small and big blind respectively, and it was four-way action to the {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop.

Three checks saw Haxton bet 9,000, Dwan check-raised to 26,000, and one by one the players folded, including Haxton.

Mo vs. Gruissem

Level 9 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

With around 80,000 in the pot and a flop of {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Philipp Gruissem checked from the under-the-gun position and Jason Mo did the same from the button. The dup repeated the action on both the {8-Hearts} turn and {Q-Diamonds} river, at which point Gruissem tabled the {8-Clubs}{9-Spades} to win the pot.

It wasn't much of a hand, but Doug Polk was keen to have a hand about Mo up in the blog.

Nasty River Sends Negreanu to the Rail

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Daniel Negreanu

We missed the action, but we do know that Daniel Negreanu got his stack of 100,000 or so all in on a flop of {7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} holding the {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, which was well out in front of Igor Kurganov's {j-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The {10-Hearts} turn gave Kurganov a gunshot straight to a nine, but it would be the {J-Hearts} river that would put a dagger through Negreanu's heart. He put on some lighthearted theatrics for the dozens of railbirds, but Negreanu absurd the blow as well as could be expected.

Antonio Esfandiari inquired whether or not Negreanu would reenter, and the answer was not right away but probably later.

Haxton Sliding On Fifth Bullet

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

PokerStars Team Online's Isaac Haxton is on his fifth bullet in this event, and lost an early pot right away to lose some of his stack.

On this hand, the flop was {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} when Jeff Rossiter checked. Haxton bet 10,000, and Tom Dwan called. Rossiter then check-raised to 44,000, and Haxton and Dwan folded.

Ike, Give Me Five!

Level 8 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

PokerStars Team Online's Isaac Haxton just busted... again, and this was the fourth time for him to do so. Haxton went straight to the cage, though, and reentered once more, making that five times he has entered. Will this be the one? We'll see!
