Jeff Rossiter Eliminated in 13th Place (AU$70,000)

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Jeff Rossiter - 13th Place
Jeff Rossiter - 13th Place

Jeff Rossiter was first to act on the four-handed outer table, and opened to 48,000. The action folded to Ami Barer in the big blind, and the Canadian three-bet to 114,000. Rossiter four-bet ripped, moving all in for 891,000, and Barer went into the tank.

Like he did in a previous hand against Jason Mercier, Barer started laughing to no one in particular. After racking his brain for a little longer Barer called, and the two were off to the races.

Rossiter: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Barer: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Spectators flocked to the table when the tournament director announced that there was an all in and a call, and the dealer paused before delivering a flop of {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Barer snatched the lead away from Rossiter, but either player flinched.

The {2-Hearts} on the turn was a brick, leaving Rossiter with just two outs to survive, and unfortunately for the Aussie the {8-Spades} on the river was not one of them.

Rossiter exited in 13th place, earning AU$70,000, while Barer chipped up to nearly two million chips.

Rockets for O'Dea

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Eoghan O'Dea raised to 50,000 from under the gun, Scott Seiver three-bet to 145,000 in the cutoff, and O'Dea called.

O'Dea check-called a bet of 90,000 on a flop of {4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Spades}, and the two players checked on the turn ({7-Spades}) and the river ({6-Diamonds}). O'Dea showed {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} for aces and sixes, and it looked like Seiver flashed {3-}{3-}.

Rabinowitz vs. Rubianes

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Denny Lewis opened for 55,000 under the gun and received a call from Vincent Rubianes. Darren Rabinowitz came along from the button and the three players saw a flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Two checks saw Rabinowitz bet 70,000, Lewis fold, and Rubianes make the call.

Rabinowitz then check-called a bet of 125,000 on the {4-Clubs} turn, which was followed by both players checking the {A-Diamonds} on the river. Rabinowitz tabled the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}, but it was no good as Rubianes held two pair with the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Balsiger Makes the Call

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Jake Balsiger
Jake Balsiger

Jake Balsiger checked to Tam Truong on a flop of {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, and Truong tossed out 190,000. Balsiger called.

The turn was the {8-Clubs}, Balsiger knuckled again, and Truong fired out another 150,000. Balsiger again called.

The 2012 Octo-Niner checked a third and final time when the {a-Clubs} completed the board, and Truong emptied the chamber. With his third bullet, he moved all in for effectively 500,000 or so, and Balsiger tanked for a considerable amount of time before calling.

Truong tabled {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for top two pair, but it was no good against Balsiger's {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a jack-high straight. Balsiger now has 1.75 million chips, while Truong tumbled to 1.14 million.

Seidel Slips

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Erik Seidel opened for 60,000 and received a call from Ami Barer on the button. Jake Balsiger came along from the big blind and three players saw a flop of {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. Balsiger checked, Seidel bet 90,000, and only Barer called.

Seidel proceeded to check-call bets of 195,000 and 200,000 on the {10-Diamonds} turn and {a-Hearts} river respectively, but mucked when Barer rolled over the {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a straight.

Crivell in the Danger Zone

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

With around 200,000 in the pot and a board reading {2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, Andrew Phaedonos checked from the small blind and a short-stacked Patrick Crivell bet 85,000 from the hijack. Phaedonos woke up with a check-raise to 177,000, and it proved too much for Crivell as he sent his cards to the muck.
