Miller Gets Lucky to Stay Alive

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Bobby Zhang opened for 28,000 from middle position and was met by an all-in three-bet to 161,000 from Thomas Miller in the cutoff. The button and blinds all folded, and then Zhang snap-called.

Miller: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Zhang: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Miller had a big kicker problem, but fortunately for him it got resolved on the {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop. Zhang was looking for a king to eliminate his opponent, but it didn't come as the {5-Diamonds} blanked on the turn followed by the {3-Clubs} on the river.

Abernathy Commits

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Aaron Blanch raised from the hijack seat to 25,000, Samantha Abernathy called from the button, and Alex Lee came along from the big blind.

The flop fell {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, and Lee checked. Blanch bet 45,000, and Abernathy raised to 325,000 to show she was committed to the hand. Lee folded, as did Blanch, and Abernathy won the pot.

Fan Busts

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

From early position, Terry Fan raised all in for 55,000. John Chu called from the hijack seat, and Jack O'Neill called from the big blind.

O'Neill and Chu then checked the {J-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board to the river. That's when O'Neill bet 25,000, and Chu called.

O'Neill showed the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a full house, and Chu matched him with the {A-Spades}{10-Spades}. Fan had the {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and was eliminated.

Chidwick Doubles Through Wang

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened to 26,000 from early position and Michael Wang three-bet to 62,000 on the seven-handed table. Action folded back around to Chidwick and he pushed all in for 274,000. Wang made the call.

Michael Wang: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Stephen Chidwick: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The board came {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} giving Chidwick a full house, and Wang parted ways with a large portion of his chips.

Shaikh Busts To Dawley

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Right after he doubled through Jessica Dawley, Adeel Shaikh was eliminated by his female counterpart.

On the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, the two got all the money in with Dawley having the best of it with the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} to Shaikh's {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

The {Q-Diamonds} on the turn was a bit of a sweat, but the {8-Hearts} on the river couldn't do it for Shaikh, and he was eliminated.

Wolters Spikes a Double Through Koren

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Up on the feature table, James Ong raised from the under-the-gun position to 27,000. Play folded to Derek Wolters in the small blind, and he reraised all in for 178,000. Arthur Koren called from the big blind, and then Ong went into the tank. After a couple minutes, Ong folded, and it was Wolters' {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} fighting against the {10-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for Koren.

The dealer produced the {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop, and Wolters picked up a set of nines to take the lead. Despite the leapfrog, Koren still had an up-and-down straight draw plus he could hit a higher set.

The turn was the {5-Spades}, and the river was the {2-Clubs}. Both of those kept Wolters in front, and he won the pot to double up.

Reynolds on the Wrong End of a Cooler

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Adam Reynolds - 37th Place
Adam Reynolds - 37th Place

Dylan Honeyman raised to 26,000 from middle position and was met by a three-bet to 66,000 from Adam Reynolds on the button. The blinds both folded, Honeyman just called, and the flop came down {6-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Clubs}. Honeyman checked, Reynolds bet 78,000, and Honeyman paused for a few beats before check-raising all in. Reynolds wasted little time in calling off for 270,000 or so and discovered the bad news.

Reynolds: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Honeyman: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Both players held big pocket pairs, but Honeyman had the best of it. Reynolds began to get out of his chair and watched the dealer burned and turned the {A-Diamonds}. Reynolds outs were swapped as he now needed a king to make a straight, but it wasn't in the cards as the {J-Diamonds} blanked on the river.

With Reynolds' elimination in 37th place, the remaining 36 players will redraw into six tables of six.

Billy Chattaway Eliminated in 36th Place (AU$30,000)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Billy Chattaway - 36th Place
Billy Chattaway - 36th Place

The hijack made it 24,000 and Billy Chattaway in the cutoff three-bet to 70,000. Jack O'Neill on the button cold four-bet to 140,000 and both blinds and the initial raiser folded. Action was back on Chattaway and he pushed all in. O'Neill called instantly.

Billy Chattaway: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Jack O'Neill: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The {K-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop was good for Chattaway and he got up from his chair of excitement. The {Q-Diamonds} on the turn was a buzz killer though, making Chattaway drawing dead. The {10-Hearts} on the river was a blank and the tournament was down to 35 players.
