Young Flops Quads on Hachem
Level 12
: Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Maxwell Young opened to 6,000 from the hijack, and was raised by Joe Hachem in the cutoff to 15,000. Action folded round to Young, who flicked in the call.
On the 3♥7♥7♦ flop, Young checked it over to Hachem, who bet 10,000. Young called and checked action back over to the 2005 WSOP Main Event champion on the 2♣ turn.
Hachem picked up 75,000 and threw it into the middle, as Young grabbed the remainder of his chips and committed the rest of his stack. Hachem called the extra 5,000 and tabled J♥J♦, but was drawing stone dead to Young's 7♠7♣. The flopped quads rendered the 2♦ river meaningless, and Young secured a crucial double.
