Side Action and Electronic Action

Many of the poker events we have witnessed lately have been all about the tournaments and the side action has been a big disappointment. Not so here at the Crown. Every, and I mean every, tournament table that was been broken has immediately been filled with cash games or satellites. The electronic PokerPro tables have been busy all day and now have a wait list for seats.

Poker is in full bloom here in the summer sunshine of Melbourne.

Chop-Chop

Earlier today it seemed like the tournament was going to be Cracked Aces Forever. Now it seems it 's become Chop-Chop and not just chopped pots but in the last two levels I have seen the following hands turned up pre-flop.

{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} verssus{A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}
{K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} versus{K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
{A-Clubs}{K-Spades} versus{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
and
{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} versus{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
and yes they all resulted in chopped pots.

The best, however, was a SB forced all-in with {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts} versus {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
but a board of {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} saved the choppy day.

Closer and Closer

We are just a few bustouts away from 100 players remaining. Fifteen minutes to go in this Level 7. Then its one more level before a dinner break and we should be in sight of the money by then. Paying top 45 in today's event and playing down tonight to a Final Table of 9 players.

AK vs AK vs AK

Tony Hachem finally finds a hand and gets all his chips in with {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and 2 callers. Warren Pritchard with {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and James Millers with {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and the Turn card was the {10-Hearts}, giving Tony a flush draw. The River brought the {J-Spades} and they split the pot.

Tony was heard saying "all I needed was a heart", to which James replied "mine was in my mouth!"
