The Baddest of Bad Beats

Heads swirled around at nearly every table in the Crown Poker Room as this hand between Roger Codeca and his utterly unfortunate opponent came to a dramatic conclusion.

Codeca was in serious trouble, all in pre-flop with {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} vs. his opponent's pocket queens. The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, making his opponent top set and leaving Codeca drawing only to running cards. The turn was one of them-- the {K-Clubs}, giving him a gutshot straight draw and the entire table waited with bated breath as the river card was dealt. It was the {J-Clubs} making Codeca the nut straight! The entire table, as well as the adjoining flock of railbirds erupted at the bad beat as the pot was shipped Codeca's way.
