Ivey Claims the Chip Lead

Phil Ivey

Action folded around to Frank Soffioti in the small blind who completed the bet and the action then fell to Phil Ivey in the big, who kicked it up another 900. Soffioti made the call and the flop came {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

First to act after the flop, Soffioti led out with a 700 bet and Ivey kicked it up to 1,500. Soffioti then re-popped it to 6,700 and Ivey put in a fourth bet, making it 16,000 to go. Soffioti, holding 10-6, opted to move all in and Ivey made the call, tabling {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for top and bottom pair.

The {7-Hearts} fell on the turn and the river brought the {4-Diamonds} which gave Ivey a pot-clinching full house and 83,000 in new chips. Soffioti was eliminated from the tournament on the hand, while Ivey soared to the top of the leaderboard with the win.
