Women's Poker Spotlight: Anna Wroblewski

Anna Wroblewski
Anna Wroblewski
Four foot eleven inch Anna Wroblewski has enjoyed a rookie year on the tournament circuit that would be any player's envy. As the legend goes, Anna was working a $10/hr job as a receptionist back in April 2007, when her boss gave her a $400 loan to play poker with. She took that money to the Bellagio where she sat in a $15-$30 limit hold'em game and booked a $600 win. With those winnings, she bought herself into a satellite for a $2,000 tournament at the Bellagio Five-Star Classic. Anna placed 16th in the tournament, winning just over $7,000. After paying her boss back, Anna played a satellite for the next day's $3,000 event, won her seat, and then turned around and won the event for over $300,000! She finished off April by cashing at the WPT Championships, and winning the Ladies Event at the WSOP-Circuit stop at Caesar's Palace. That's one helluva month!

Anna has enjoyed a great run here at the Aussie Millions, making two final tables in the preliminary events. She finished 7th in the $1,000 pot-limit hold'em event and finished 4th in the $1,000 NLHE with rebuys. She faces a star-studded table today in the main event, with Cricketer Shane Warne seated to her right, and WSOP bracelet winner Alex Kravchenko across the table.
