Rypinski Vying for Chip Lead

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Slav Rypinski
Slav Rypinski

Both Slav Rypinski and David Sebesfi were in action on a Q942 board and Rypinski check-called 10,500 from his opponent.

The river was the Q and Rypinski checked. Sebesfi bet 15,000 and Rypinski called, turning over Q5 for a rivered full house.

Sebesfi flashed KQ for trip queens and mucked, with Rypinski moving above 200,000 in chips to contend for the overall chip lead.

Lackovic Gets There to Double Through Demlakian

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On Mocks' table, there was a A54 flop where Dean Boskovic had bet 6,500 and Stevan Lackovic had moved all in for 16,000.

It folded around to Ken Demlakian who three-bet all in for around 65,000.

Boskovic folded and the cards were turned over.

Stevan Lackovic: 43 All in
Ken Demlakian: A2

"Is that two fours?" Demlakian asked from the other end of the table, before seeing that it was just a pair of fours.

However, the turn 2 gave Lackovic a wheel and the river K bricked.

"How do you do that?" Demlakian asked the dealer.

"What do you mean?" piped up Boskovic. "You made two pair?"

Bluff? No Need for Hulley

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a 7542 board one player checked and Sergio Barrios bet 7,000. Angel Scicchitano called, as did Tom Hulley, with the original player folding.

The river was the 4 and gradually all three players checked.

Barrios was first to show, turning over 98 for a missed flush draw and nine high. Then it was Scicchitano's turn, tabling J6 for a missed straight draw and jack high.

Triumphantly, Hulley slammed 33 on the table to win the pot.

"I was going to bluff," said Hulley.

"No need," said tablemate Nathan Glase.

"Checked back with the best hand," said Hulley. "I know exactly where I was."

So Long, Gu-dbye

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Elliot Esca opened to 5,000 and called a shove from Brian Gu. Gu was all in for 42,000.

Brian Gu: AQ All in
Elliot Esca: AJ

"Can I suck out one time this weekend," said Esca aloud as the flop came K108. The turn Q completed Esca's straight with the river 10 bricking.

"That's the first time this weekend," Esca said to the table.

"I'm going to check," said Laurence Hall to Esca's left. "Check to see, as you've already used your one time!"

Otter Running Up a Stack Again

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Zelig Otter
Zelig Otter

Zelig Otter had a decent stack yesterday but was eliminated by eventual end-of-day chip leader Sayed Jabbour. He's sitting with close to 200,000 chips today and opened to 4,000 with calls from Meng Guangrui, Nicholas Cooper and Bert Perry.

The flop came AK3. It checked to Otter who continued for 7,000. Guangrui was the only caller.

The pair checked down the 4Q runout.

"Queen," announced Otter, with Guangrui showing A9 and taking down the pot with top pair.

Klinger Sends Wang to the Rail

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Yuanting Wang
Yuanting Wang

After an open to 5,000, Yuanting Wang three-bet all in from the button for 35,000. Daniel Klinger was in the small blind and four-bet all in for over 150,000. The big blind and original raiser both folded and the cards were turned over.

Yuanting Wang: J9 All in
Daniel Klinger: AQ

The Q32 didn't exactly help Wang who was already getting to his feet. The turn 9 offered him the chance of salvation, but the river 3 sent him to the rail.
