Lin proceeded to check-call Bono down on every street — first for 3,000 on the 9♦3♠3♦ flop, then for 10,500 on the J♠ turn, and finally for about 30,000 all in on the 4♣ river.

Bono tabled K♣3♥ for flopped trips, which was best against the 9♠2♥ of Lin for two pair to win the match.

Meanwhile, both Dale Marsland and Andrew White advanced over Keegan Paterson and Craig Blight, respectively.

Last year in Sydney, Hasan "Huss" Onay won the 2024 Australian Poker Open Main Event after a heads-up deal with Brazil's Higor Seibel.

Onay entered heads-up with a dominating chip lead, with Seibel managing to double once, before the players agreed to a deal.

The 549-player tournament took place at Doltone House Western Sydney at Club Marconi, with Onay taking home A$284,480 and the inaugural APO Main Event title.
