Boucas Doubles Through Endersby; Mcguire Advances

Blind: 1,000/2,000/2,000

Constantinos Boucas found himself short against Travis Endersby with all his bullets in play.

Constantinos Boucas: A7All in
Travis Endersby: A4

Boucas had Endersby dominated with his ace, and the 102376 runout left Boucas best with a pair of sevens to keep his tournament life alive.

At another table Tom Mcguire defeated Nikhil Autar.

Bono Busts Elias; Antar Also Advances

Blinds: 1,000/2,000/2,000

A short-stacked George Elias limped on the button and Ricardo Bono made it 6,000 to go. Elias called.

Elias committed the rest of his stack on the A76 flop and Bono called to put him at risk.

George Elias: Q7All in
Ricardo Bono: QQ

Elias had flopped a seven, but was in rough shape against Elias' ladies.

The 2 turn nor 8 river were of any help to Elias and Bono advanced to the next round.

At another table, Joseph Antar defeated Jayden Zalac to advance to round two.

White Cruises Past Vuksanovik

Blinds: 500/1,000/1,000

Andrew White has claimed the first victory in the bracket after defeating Georgina Vuksanovik on the first level.

According to White both players put their full 150,000 into player before starting the match. Several hands in, White picked up aces against Vuksanovik's pocket eights. The pot was three-bet pre and the board ran out low. Bets went in on every street with both players getting all in on the river.

Vuksanovik was left with just a few thousand chips afterwards and shoved the next hand.

Georgina Vuksanovik: 65All in
Andrew White: Q9

The board ran out of AQ10A3 — leaving White best with queens up and eliminating Vuksanovik early on.

Australian Poker Open Trophy
Australian Poker Open Trophy

The action is heating up at Club Marconi at Doltone House Western Sydney, with several players already having claimed a piece of the guaranteed A$4,000,000 in prize money at this years Australian Poker Open. Today marks start of the inaugural A$1,500 Heads-up Championship — offering action junkies and enthusiasts alike a chance to display their skills in one of the purest forms of poker.

A few short days ago, Banipal Babana took down the High Roller Heads-Up title for a cool $24,400 after winning three straight heads-up matches, including one against Titan champion Daewoong Song before besting Anthony Chan in the championship match.

Play is set to get underway at 6 p.m. and will be played in a single-elimination bracket over the course of two days. Each player will begin three bullets worth 50,000 in chips each. A player may use any of their bullets to add an additional 50,000 to their stack at any time before the start of the tournament and between hands. A player will not be considered eliminated until they've lost all their chips with no bullets left.

Level 1 will begin with blinds at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante. Levels will last 15-minute each and no late entries are permitted. Each consecutive match will be played with a "fresh" set of three bullets with blinds reverting back to Level 1. Day one is scheduled to play three matches, with the final three matches wrapping up tomorrow at 6 p.m. (subject to change depending on the number of entrants).

Be sure to stick with PokerNews as we capture all the check-raises, call-downs, and crushing beats leading to the next APO Heads-up Champion!
