McSwiney Doubles Through Burns

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Joshua McSwiney
Joshua McSwiney

Kahle Burns raised from under the gun to 125,000 and Joshua McSwiney shoved the hijack for 565,000. Burns called.

Joshua McSwiney: AK All in
Kahle Burns: A10

McSwiney found the Big Slick at a great time and was in prime position to double up his stack. A flop of A7J kept his kicker best and he picked up a flush draw on the 5 turn. The J river completed McSwiney's flush, and he doubled up, putting a big dent in Burns' stack.

Antar Gets a Bluff Through

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Joseph Antar limped in from the cutoff with QJ, and Kahle Burns also called on the button. Noel Jaber completed from the small blind holding J8 and Joshua McSwiney just folded from the big blind, not realizing people had limped.

The flop came 952 and all three checked to the 8 turn, where Jaber fired 55,000. Antar called and Burns folded.

The 5 filled out the board and Jaber checked, then Antar went with a pot-sized bet of 330,000. Jaber was talking to himself for some time before he finally elected to fold his eight, alloiwng Antar to claim the pot.

John Perry Eliminated in 7th Place (A$$33,960)

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
John Perry
John Perry

Noel Jaber opened the hijack and then called the shove of John Perry, who ripped in 460,000 from the big blind.

John Perry: A6 All in
Noel Jaber: QJ

Perry was ahead and extended his lead on the 510A flop, but Jaber added a lot more outs on the Q turn as any paint would see him scoop the pot. Some paint did land on the river as the Q gave Jaber backdoor trips, ending Perry's run in 7th.

Trojan Battle Paused with Six Left Standing

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Noel Jaber
Noel Jaber

What was meant to be the final day of play has instead set the stage for a dramatic unscheduled finale, as just six contenders remain in the hunt for the 2025 Australian Poker Open A$10,000 Trojan title.

After eleven intense hour-long levels on Day 2 inside Club Marconi at Doltone House Western Sydney, the 85-entry field has been trimmed to its final half-dozen. Only nine players made the money, and with a stacked leaderboard and A$220,000 still up top, everything is on the line heading into Day 3.

Leading the charge is Noel Jaber, who bagged the overnight chip lead by the slimmest of margins ahead of Joseph Antar. The pair sit atop an elite group of survivors, all looking to etch their name into APO history and join defending champion Bernardo Del Toro on the exclusive list of Trojan title holders.

Play is now pencilled in for 1 p.m. on Saturday, giving the finalists a chance to fire the last Day 1 flight of the APO Main Event at noon on Friday. When they return, it’ll be with everything on the line — the trophy, the title, and the lion’s share of the prize pool still waiting to be claimed.

Najeem Ajez, Anthony Xu, and John Perry all managed to reach the money but fell short of the final day, hitting the rail before play was paused with six remaining.
