On a flop of J♦6♥3♣, Zack Petra fired a 3,200 continuation bet only for Jordan Martak to raise to a total of 8,400.

Petra took his time before deciding to not tangle with another big stack on the table, folding his hand and Martak added to his stack.

Martak built a stack early on Day 1a but was unable to turn that momentum into a Day 2 stack but is on the right track so far today.

Curryscotto Wins Battle of the Blinds

Action folded around to Donald McCann who raised to 4,000 in the small blind and Janice Curryscotto called from the big blind. The two players saw a flop of 10♠6♦5♥. McCann bet out 6,000 and Curryscotto called.

The dealer placed the 7♣ on the turn and both players checked, as they did on the 2♥ river.

McCann showed A♣5♣ for a pair of fives, but Curryscotto scooped the pot with 10♦3♠ and her pair of tens.

Koonce Finds a Miracle in Four-Way All In

A wild four-way all-in just took place on Table 16 between Derrick Koonce, Zack Gotkin, Jon McClain and one other opponent.

Koonce was the shortest player and at risk of busting the tournament and was behind when the cards were shown.

Unknown: 10♣10♠

The flop came 6♣3♣6♥ and changed nothing, McClain covered all players and his kings were still best.

The turn came A♦ improving Gotkin to top pair and one card away from a huge scoop, but that wasn't meant to be as the 8♣ fell on the river, improving Koonce to a set of eights and quadrupling his stack. Gotkin was left with fumes, as was McClain, whilst the unknown player was eliminated.

Craig Dehning opened to 2,000 from middle position and faced a reraise, all in, from Chun Pestramp for a total of 15,200. Dehning made the call and the players tabled their holdings.

Pestramp was at risk and in bad shape versus the overpair of Dehning but that changed as the dealer fanned the 2♠4♦6♦ flop, improving Pestramp to top set. The turn came the 3♣, putting four to a straight on the board and the river came 5♦, completing the straight on board.

Pestramp stood up, thinking she had lost, before realising the situation and sat down her chair ready for the next hand.
