Acerra Acsending
Level 6
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Jodee Distasio opened to 2,000 from the hijack, and Bill Acerra promptly three-bet to 8,000 in the cutoff. Charles Detweiler made the call in the big blind, while Distasio got out of the way.
Both players checked the J♦8♣4♥ flop, with Detweiler checking again on the K♠ turn.
Acerra fired a bet of 8,000, and Detweiler check-raised to 16,000. The call was made, and Detweiler led out for 16,000 on the 5♥ river.
Acerra made the quick call, and turned over 8♥8♦ for a flopped set of eights. Detweiler revealed A♠K♦ for top pair, and Acerra collected a big pot and added to his growing stack.
